{"id":"CVE-2026-93747","state":"PUBLISHED","title":"wpForo Forum <= 3.1.6 - Authenticated (Subscriber+) Stored Cross-Site Scripting via 'telegram' Profile Field","description":"The wpForo Forum plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Stored Cross-Site Scripting via the 'telegram' profile field in versions up to, and including, 3.1.6. This is due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping in the profile_update action — the raw $_POST['data'] array is copied into a $custom_fields variable before validate() and sanitize() run, both of which operate only on a parallel $user reference, leaving $custom_fields unsanitized when it is persisted via update_custom_fields(); on render, wpforo_decode() reverses the entity encoding and the value is echoed without escaping in field_wrap_profile(). This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with subscriber-level access and above, to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page.","publishedAt":"2026-09-25T07:40:24.854Z","updatedAt":"2026-09-25T13:00:15.892Z","severity":{"score":6.4,"label":"Medium","version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:N","source":"Wordfence"},"assigner":"Wordfence","products":["tomdever wpForo Forum"],"affected":[{"vendor":"tomdever","product":"wpForo Forum","defaultStatus":"unaffected","versions":[{"version":"0","status":"affected","lessThanOrEqual":"3.1.6","versionType":"semver"}]}],"references":["https://www.wordfence.com/threat-intel/vulnerabilities/id/15dc1661-793a-43dd-8a12-8f51da6cb304?source=cve","https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/browser/wpforo/tags/3.1.5/classes/Forms.php#L324","https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/browser/wpforo/tags/3.1.5/classes/Forms.php#L1074","https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/browser/wpforo/tags/3.1.5/classes/Members.php#L1157","https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/browser/wpforo/tags/3.1.5/classes/Members.php#L906","https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/browser/wpforo/tags/3.1.5/classes/Actions.php#L711","https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/changeset?reponame=&old=3706608%40wpforo&new=3706608%40wpforo"],"weaknesses":["CWE-79"],"ingestedAt":"2026-10-29T20:13:34.582Z","source":{"repository":"CVEProject/cvelistV5","path":"cves/2026/93xxx/CVE-2026-93747.json","commit":"556c9d3a8cd17e218bb8e452ba7cd619a384ff47"},"raw":{"dataType":"CVE_RECORD","dataVersion":"5.2","cveMetadata":{"cveId":"CVE-2026-93747","state":"PUBLISHED","datePublished":"2026-09-25T07:40:24.854Z","dateUpdated":"2026-09-25T13:00:15.892Z","assignerShortName":"Wordfence","assignerOrgId":"b15e7b5b-3da4-40ae-a43c-f7aa60e62599","dateReserved":"2026-09-18T16:10:42.089Z"},"containers":{"cna":{"title":"wpForo Forum <= 3.1.6 - Authenticated (Subscriber+) Stored Cross-Site Scripting via 'telegram' Profile Field","descriptions":[{"lang":"en","value":"The wpForo Forum plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Stored Cross-Site Scripting via the 'telegram' profile field in versions up to, and including, 3.1.6.
