{"id":"CVE-2026-92536","state":"PUBLISHED","title":"Paid Membership Plugin, Ecommerce, User Registration Form, Login Form, User Profile & Restrict Content <= 4.17.4 - Authenticated (Subscriber+) Sensitive Information Exposure via Shortcode Injection via Nickname and Biographical Info Profile Fields","description":"The Paid Membership Plugin, Ecommerce, User Registration Form, Login Form, User Profile & Restrict Content – ProfilePress plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Sensitive Information Exposure in all versions up to, and including, 4.17.4 via the get_user_profile_structure. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with subscriber-level access and above, to extract other users' email addresses, login names, and registration dates via the Member Directory's per-row user rebinding when attacker-controlled base64 payloads in the [pp-custom-html] shortcode invoke [profile-email], [profile-username], and [profile-date-registered]. When the WordPress users_can_register option is enabled, unauthenticated attackers can also exploit this vulnerability by supplying the split shortcode fragments through the plugin's own registration handler, which processes the reg_nickname and reg_bio fields without a nonce requirement.","publishedAt":"2026-10-03T03:25:43.360Z","updatedAt":"2026-10-03T15:42:46.795Z","severity":{"score":8.8,"label":"High","version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H","source":"Wordfence"},"assigner":"Wordfence","products":["properfraction Paid Membership Plugin, Ecommerce, User Registration Form, Login Form, User Profile & Restrict Content – ProfilePress"],"affected":[{"vendor":"properfraction","product":"Paid Membership Plugin, Ecommerce, User Registration Form, Login Form, User Profile & Restrict Content – ProfilePress","defaultStatus":"unaffected","versions":[{"version":"0","status":"affected","lessThanOrEqual":"4.17.4","versionType":"semver"}]}],"references":["https://www.wordfence.com/threat-intel/vulnerabilities/id/1340aeb3-12a0-4965-95db-45d753935812?source=cve","https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/browser/wp-user-avatar/tags/4.17.4/src/ShortcodeParser/FrontendProfileTag.php#L140","https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/browser/wp-user-avatar/tags/4.17.4/src/ShortcodeParser/MemberDirectoryTag.php#L237","https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/browser/wp-user-avatar/tags/4.17.4/src/ShortcodeParser/Builder/GlobalShortcodes.php#L165","https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/browser/wp-user-avatar/tags/4.17.4/src/Themes/DragDrop/ProfileFieldListing.php#L184","https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/browser/wp-user-avatar/tags/4.17.4/src/Themes/DragDrop/MemberDirectoryListing.php#L145","https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/browser/wp-user-avatar/tags/4.17.4/src/Functions/GlobalFunctions.php#L1715","https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/browser/wp-user-avatar/tags/4.17.4/src/Classes/RegistrationAuth.php#L131","https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/browser/wp-user-avatar/tags/4.17.4/src/Classes/EditUserProfile.php#L342"],"weaknesses":["CWE-94"],"ingestedAt":"2026-10-29T20:13:34.582Z","source":{"repository":"CVEProject/cvelistV5","path":"cves/2026/92xxx/CVE-2026-92536.json","commit":"556c9d3a8cd17e218bb8e452ba7cd619a384ff47"},"raw":{"dataType":"CVE_RECORD","dataVersion":"5.2","cveMetadata":{"cveId":"CVE-2026-92536","state":"PUBLISHED","datePublished":"2026-10-03T03:25:43.360Z","dateUpdated":"2026-10-03T15:42:46.795Z","assignerShortName":"Wordfence","assignerOrgId":"b15e7b5b-3da4-40ae-a43c-f7aa60e62599","dateReserved":"2026-09-16T12:52:28.435Z"},"containers":{"cna":{"title":"Paid Membership Plugin, Ecommerce, User Registration Form, Login Form, User Profile & Restrict Content <= 4.17.4 - Authenticated (Subscriber+) Sensitive Information Exposure via Shortcode Injection via Nickname and Biographical Info Profile Fields","descriptions":[{"lang":"en","value":"The Paid Membership Plugin, Ecommerce, User Registration Form, Login Form, User Profile & Restrict Content – ProfilePress plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Sensitive Information Exposure in all versions up to, and including, 4.17.4 via the get_user_profile_structure.
