{"id":"CVE-2026-89141","state":"PUBLISHED","title":"AI Engine <= 3.7.7 - Insecure Direct Object Reference to Authenticated (Subscriber+) Sensitive Attachment Disclosure via 'mediaId' Parameter","description":"The AI Engine – The Chatbot, AI Framework & MCP for WordPress plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Insecure Direct Object Reference in all versions up to, and including, 3.7.7 via the 'mediaId' parameter due to missing validation on a user controlled key. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with subscriber-level access and above, to access and retrieve the transcribed contents of private audio attachments belonging to other users, including Administrators, via a supplied attachment ID. This vulnerability requires the Public API module to be enabled in the plugin settings; when disabled, the REST route is absent and the endpoint returns HTTP 404.","publishedAt":"2026-09-15T06:07:31.075Z","updatedAt":"2026-09-15T13:53:51.020Z","severity":{"score":6.5,"label":"Medium","version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:N/A:N","source":"Wordfence"},"assigner":"Wordfence","products":["tigroumeow AI Engine – The Chatbot, AI Framework & MCP for WordPress"],"affected":[{"vendor":"tigroumeow","product":"AI Engine – The Chatbot, AI Framework & MCP for WordPress","defaultStatus":"unaffected","versions":[{"version":"0","status":"affected","lessThanOrEqual":"3.7.7","versionType":"semver"}]}],"references":["https://www.wordfence.com/threat-intel/vulnerabilities/id/2cb2ad5d-aa92-4186-aaae-45dde4a52f30?source=cve","https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/browser/ai-engine/tags/3.7.7/classes/api.php#L663","https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/browser/ai-engine/tags/3.7.7/classes/api.php#L637","https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/browser/ai-engine/tags/3.7.7/classes/core.php#L253","https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/browser/ai-engine/tags/3.7.7/classes/api.php#L1168","https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/changeset/3693379"],"weaknesses":["CWE-639"],"ingestedAt":"2026-10-29T20:13:26.108Z","source":{"repository":"CVEProject/cvelistV5","path":"cves/2026/89xxx/CVE-2026-89141.json","commit":"556c9d3a8cd17e218bb8e452ba7cd619a384ff47"},"raw":{"dataType":"CVE_RECORD","dataVersion":"5.2","cveMetadata":{"cveId":"CVE-2026-89141","state":"PUBLISHED","datePublished":"2026-09-15T06:07:31.075Z","dateUpdated":"2026-09-15T13:53:51.020Z","assignerShortName":"Wordfence","assignerOrgId":"b15e7b5b-3da4-40ae-a43c-f7aa60e62599","dateReserved":"2026-09-10T23:37:42.478Z"},"containers":{"cna":{"title":"AI Engine <= 3.7.7 - Insecure Direct Object Reference to Authenticated (Subscriber+) Sensitive Attachment Disclosure via 'mediaId' Parameter","descriptions":[{"lang":"en","value":"The AI Engine – The Chatbot, AI Framework & MCP for WordPress plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Insecure Direct Object Reference in all versions up to, and including, 3.7.7 via the 'mediaId' parameter due to missing validation on a user controlled key.
