{"id":"CVE-2026-76324","state":"PUBLISHED","title":"Stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) in Splunk Web Tours in Splunk Enterprise","description":"In Splunk Enterprise versions below 10.4.2, 10.2.6, 10.0.9, and 9.4.14, a user who holds the \"power\" Splunk role could create a malicious Splunk Web tour and cause arbitrary JavaScript to run in the browser of another user when that user opens a crafted tour link. The JavaScript runs in the browser of the affected user, allowing for access to all relevant data available to that user. The Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability is possible because Splunk Web renders tour content and tour navigation links without sufficient output encoding and accepts a tour selector value that can be treated as markup. The vulnerability requires another user to open a crafted tour link. The user who holds the \"power\" Splunk role should not be able to trigger JavaScript execution in another user's browser without that user interaction.","publishedAt":"2026-08-19T21:34:29.131Z","updatedAt":"2026-08-26T15:22:40.616Z","severity":{"score":5.7,"label":"Medium","version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:R/S:U/C:H/I:N/A:N","source":"cisco"},"assigner":"cisco","products":["Splunk Splunk Enterprise"],"affected":[{"vendor":"Splunk","product":"Splunk Enterprise","versions":[{"version":"10.4","status":"affected","lessThan":"10.4.2","versionType":"custom"},{"version":"10.2","status":"affected","lessThan":"10.2.6","versionType":"custom"},{"version":"10.0","status":"affected","lessThan":"10.0.9","versionType":"custom"},{"version":"9.4","status":"affected","lessThan":"9.4.14","versionType":"custom"}]}],"references":["https://advisory.splunk.com/advisories/SVD-2026-0801"],"weaknesses":["CWE-79"],"ingestedAt":"2026-10-29T20:12:58.252Z","source":{"repository":"CVEProject/cvelistV5","path":"cves/2026/76xxx/CVE-2026-76324.json","commit":"556c9d3a8cd17e218bb8e452ba7cd619a384ff47"},"raw":{"dataType":"CVE_RECORD","dataVersion":"5.2","cveMetadata":{"cveId":"CVE-2026-76324","state":"PUBLISHED","datePublished":"2026-08-19T21:34:29.131Z","dateUpdated":"2026-08-26T15:22:40.616Z","assignerShortName":"cisco","assignerOrgId":"d1c1063e-7a18-46af-9102-31f8928bc633","dateReserved":"2026-08-19T12:02:03.626Z"},"containers":{"cna":{"title":"Stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) in Splunk Web Tours in Splunk Enterprise","descriptions":[{"lang":"en","value":"In Splunk Enterprise versions below 10.4.2, 10.2.6, 10.0.9, and 9.4.14, a user who holds the \"power\" Splunk role could create a malicious Splunk Web tour and cause arbitrary JavaScript to run in the browser of another user when that user opens a crafted tour link.
