{"id":"CVE-2026-73117","state":"PUBLISHED","title":"Apache Juneau: Response header CRLF injection and open redirect when applications set headers or redirect targets from request data","description":"Improper Neutralization of CRLF Sequences in HTTP Headers ('HTTP Response Splitting') vulnerability in Apache Juneau.\n\nThe Apache Juneau REST server passed response header values and redirect targets to the servlet container unchecked. An application that sets a response header or redirect target from request data could let a remote client inject header lines (where the servlet container does not itself reject CR/LF) or redirect users to an arbitrary external site. The framework itself does not build headers or redirects from request data; exposure depends on application code.\n\nThis issue affects Apache Juneau: through 9.2.0.\n\nUsers are recommended to upgrade to version 9.2.1, which fixes the issue. Header values are now sanitized by default; applications that build redirect targets from request data must also switch from sendRedirect() to the new sendSafeRedirect().","publishedAt":"2026-11-05T11:54:11.703Z","updatedAt":"2026-11-05T11:54:11.703Z","severity":{"score":10,"label":"Critical","version":"4.0","vector":"CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:N/VC:H/VI:H/VA:H/SC:H/SI:H/SA:H","source":"apache"},"assigner":"apache","products":["Apache Software Foundation Apache Juneau"],"affected":[{"vendor":"Apache Software Foundation","product":"Apache Juneau","packageName":"org.apache.juneau:juneau-rest-server","packageURL":"pkg:maven/org.apache.juneau/juneau-rest-server","defaultStatus":"unaffected","versions":[{"version":"0","status":"affected","lessThan":"9.2.1","versionType":"semver"}],"collectionURL":"https://repo.maven.apache.org/maven2"}],"references":["https://lists.apache.org/thread.html/j05q7vw08j48o96tdlzcsd4sozx1lyl6"],"weaknesses":["CWE-113"],"ingestedAt":"2026-11-05T11:58:06.439Z","source":{"repository":"CVEProject/cvelistV5","path":"cves/2026/73xxx/CVE-2026-73117.json","commit":"4f77f8699b6ca5c78097e2ab206ec0584b18396d","baselineCommit":"556c9d3a8cd17e218bb8e452ba7cd619a384ff47"},"raw":{"dataType":"CVE_RECORD","dataVersion":"5.2","cveMetadata":{"cveId":"CVE-2026-73117","state":"PUBLISHED","datePublished":"2026-11-05T11:54:11.703Z","dateUpdated":"2026-11-05T11:54:11.703Z","assignerShortName":"apache","assignerOrgId":"f0158376-9dc2-43b6-827c-5f631a4d8d09","dateReserved":"2026-08-10T21:16:08.533Z"},"containers":{"cna":{"title":"Apache Juneau: Response header CRLF injection and open redirect when applications set headers or redirect targets from request data","descriptions":[{"lang":"en","value":"Improper Neutralization of CRLF Sequences in HTTP Headers ('HTTP Response Splitting') vulnerability in Apache Juneau.\n\nThe Apache Juneau REST server passed response header values and redirect targets to the servlet container unchecked.
