{"id":"CVE-2026-66075","state":"PUBLISHED","title":"RabbitMQ: Monitoring-tag user can restart federation links","description":"RabbitMQ is a messaging and streaming broker. Prior to versions 3.13.15, 4.0.20, 4.1.11, 4.2.6, and 4.3.1, is_authorized/2 for the /federation-links/.../restart route uses is_authorized_monitor (accepts the monitoring tag), while allowed_methods permits DELETE and delete_resource/2 triggers rabbit_federation_link_sup:restart. There is no per-method elevation check and no comment marking it intentional. A read-only monitoring user can restart any federation link , a state-changing operation that disrupts message flow. Preconditions include rabbitmq_federation + rabbitmq_federation_management plugins enabled Attacker has credentials with the monitoring tag. This issue is fixed in versions 3.13.15, 4.0.20, 4.1.11, 4.2.6, and 4.3.1.","publishedAt":"2026-09-23T20:39:59.299Z","updatedAt":"2026-09-24T13:51:02.034Z","severity":{"score":2.3,"label":"Low","version":"4.0","vector":"CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:P/PR:L/UI:N/VC:N/VI:N/VA:L/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N","source":"GitHub_M"},"assigner":"GitHub_M","products":["rabbitmq rabbitmq-server"],"affected":[{"vendor":"rabbitmq","product":"rabbitmq-server","versions":[{"version":">= 3.13.0, < 3.13.15","status":"affected"},{"version":">= 4.0.0, < 4.0.20","status":"affected"},{"version":">= 4.1.0, < 4.1.11","status":"affected"},{"version":">= 4.2.0, < 4.2.6","status":"affected"},{"version":">= 4.3.0, < 4.3.1","status":"affected"}]}],"references":["https://github.com/rabbitmq/rabbitmq-server/security/advisories/GHSA-g5v3-w5xg-62q2","https://github.com/rabbitmq/rabbitmq-server/releases/tag/v4.2.6","https://github.com/rabbitmq/rabbitmq-server/releases/tag/v4.3.1"],"weaknesses":["CWE-862"],"ingestedAt":"2026-10-29T20:12:41.951Z","source":{"repository":"CVEProject/cvelistV5","path":"cves/2026/66xxx/CVE-2026-66075.json","commit":"556c9d3a8cd17e218bb8e452ba7cd619a384ff47"},"raw":{"dataType":"CVE_RECORD","dataVersion":"5.2","cveMetadata":{"cveId":"CVE-2026-66075","state":"PUBLISHED","datePublished":"2026-09-23T20:39:59.299Z","dateUpdated":"2026-09-24T13:51:02.034Z","assignerShortName":"GitHub_M","assignerOrgId":"a0819718-46f1-4df5-94e2-005712e83aaa","dateReserved":"2026-07-23T23:25:28.897Z"},"containers":{"cna":{"title":"RabbitMQ: Monitoring-tag user can restart federation links","descriptions":[{"lang":"en","value":"RabbitMQ is a messaging and streaming broker.
