{"id":"CVE-2026-53949","state":"PUBLISHED","title":"Ghost Content API filter bypass reveals private fields","description":"Ghost is a Node.js content management system. From 5.46.1 until 6.21.2, the validation applied to filters on the public API endpoints could be partially bypassed, making it possible to reveal private fields via a brute force attack. If SQLite was used as the database password hashes were fully accessible. If MySQL was used as the database the password hashes' case (uppercase / lowercase) would have been lost, which would likely have rendered a further brute force attack on the discovered hashes fruitless. This vulnerability is fixed in 6.21.2.","publishedAt":"2026-06-24T18:05:29.100Z","updatedAt":"2026-06-24T18:55:24.041Z","severity":{"score":5.3,"label":"Medium","version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:L/I:N/A:N","source":"GitHub_M"},"assigner":"GitHub_M","products":["TryGhost Ghost"],"affected":[{"vendor":"TryGhost","product":"Ghost","versions":[{"version":">= 5.46.1, < 6.21.2","status":"affected"}]}],"references":["https://github.com/TryGhost/Ghost/security/advisories/GHSA-jx35-x7fj-vgpr"],"weaknesses":["CWE-200","CWE-693"],"ingestedAt":"2026-10-29T20:12:16.098Z","source":{"repository":"CVEProject/cvelistV5","path":"cves/2026/53xxx/CVE-2026-53949.json","commit":"556c9d3a8cd17e218bb8e452ba7cd619a384ff47"},"raw":{"dataType":"CVE_RECORD","dataVersion":"5.2","cveMetadata":{"cveId":"CVE-2026-53949","state":"PUBLISHED","datePublished":"2026-06-24T18:05:29.100Z","dateUpdated":"2026-06-24T18:55:24.041Z","assignerShortName":"GitHub_M","assignerOrgId":"a0819718-46f1-4df5-94e2-005712e83aaa","dateReserved":"2026-06-11T15:50:01.281Z"},"containers":{"cna":{"title":"Ghost Content API filter bypass reveals private fields","descriptions":[{"lang":"en","value":"Ghost is a Node.js content management system.
