{"id":"CVE-2026-52879","state":"PUBLISHED","title":"Klever-Go: Unbounded goroutine spawn on direct-message ingress enables peer-driven DoS","description":"Klever-Go is the Go implementation of the Klever blockchain protocol. In versions 1.7.14 through 1.7.17, the direct-message ingress handler spawns a new goroutine for every incoming direct message before the processor-level antiflood layer makes any admission decision, with no semaphore, throttler, or bound on the number of concurrent in-flight spawns. Because the antiflood check runs inside the spawned goroutine rather than before it, a single connected peer can open a direct-send stream and send a stream of well-formed messages to force unbounded goroutine creation, where each goroutine allocates its own stack and holds a message reference until processing completes, adding scheduler and garbage-collection pressure faster than the runtime can drain it. This lets one peer degrade the node's availability and its ability to process legitimate traffic, resulting in a remotely triggerable denial of service. The issue is fixed in 1.7.18.","publishedAt":"2026-08-07T22:36:53.980Z","updatedAt":"2026-08-10T13:36:07.695Z","severity":{"score":7.5,"label":"High","version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H","source":"GitHub_M"},"assigner":"GitHub_M","products":["klever-io klever-go"],"affected":[{"vendor":"klever-io","product":"klever-go","versions":[{"version":">= 1.7.14, < 1.7.18","status":"affected"}]}],"references":["https://github.com/klever-io/klever-go/security/advisories/GHSA-hf2g-6j7h-98wg","https://github.com/klever-io/klever-go/releases/tag/v1.7.18"],"weaknesses":["CWE-400","CWE-770"],"ingestedAt":"2026-10-29T20:12:16.098Z","source":{"repository":"CVEProject/cvelistV5","path":"cves/2026/52xxx/CVE-2026-52879.json","commit":"556c9d3a8cd17e218bb8e452ba7cd619a384ff47"},"raw":{"dataType":"CVE_RECORD","dataVersion":"5.2","cveMetadata":{"cveId":"CVE-2026-52879","state":"PUBLISHED","datePublished":"2026-08-07T22:36:53.980Z","dateUpdated":"2026-08-10T13:36:07.695Z","assignerShortName":"GitHub_M","assignerOrgId":"a0819718-46f1-4df5-94e2-005712e83aaa","dateReserved":"2026-06-08T21:44:27.364Z"},"containers":{"cna":{"title":"Klever-Go: Unbounded goroutine spawn on direct-message ingress enables peer-driven DoS","descriptions":[{"lang":"en","value":"Klever-Go is the Go implementation of the Klever blockchain protocol.
