{"id":"CVE-2026-50274","state":"PUBLISHED","title":"dd-trace-go: Improper parsing of W3C baggage headers may lead to DoS","description":"Datadog dd-trace-go is a Go client library for Datadog application performance monitoring, profiling, and security monitoring. Prior to 2.8.1, Datadog tracing libraries that implement W3C baggage propagation parse incoming baggage HTTP headers without enforcing DD_TRACE_BAGGAGE_MAX_ITEMS or DD_TRACE_BAGGAGE_MAX_BYTES limits on the extract path. A remote, unauthenticated attacker can send a request whose baggage header contains an arbitrarily large number of comma-separated key-value pairs or a single very large value, causing unbounded CPU and memory consumption and enabling a remote denial of service against HTTP services with baggage propagation enabled. This issue is fixed in version 2.8.1.","publishedAt":"2026-07-17T20:41:27.675Z","updatedAt":"2026-07-20T15:04:14.809Z","severity":{"score":7.5,"label":"High","version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H","source":"GitHub_M"},"assigner":"GitHub_M","products":["DataDog dd-trace-go"],"affected":[{"vendor":"DataDog","product":"dd-trace-go","versions":[{"version":"< 2.8.1","status":"affected"}]}],"references":["https://github.com/DataDog/dd-trace-go/security/advisories/GHSA-74j5-xf3v-crq8","https://github.com/DataDog/dd-trace-go/pull/4720","https://github.com/DataDog/dd-trace-go/commit/192712ba0291b2e89166259111ebb5e90c8f52df","https://github.com/DataDog/dd-trace-go/releases/tag/v2.8.1"],"weaknesses":["CWE-770"],"ingestedAt":"2026-10-29T20:12:16.098Z","source":{"repository":"CVEProject/cvelistV5","path":"cves/2026/50xxx/CVE-2026-50274.json","commit":"556c9d3a8cd17e218bb8e452ba7cd619a384ff47"},"raw":{"dataType":"CVE_RECORD","dataVersion":"5.2","cveMetadata":{"cveId":"CVE-2026-50274","state":"PUBLISHED","datePublished":"2026-07-17T20:41:27.675Z","dateUpdated":"2026-07-20T15:04:14.809Z","assignerShortName":"GitHub_M","assignerOrgId":"a0819718-46f1-4df5-94e2-005712e83aaa","dateReserved":"2026-06-04T16:26:05.984Z"},"containers":{"cna":{"title":"dd-trace-go: Improper parsing of W3C baggage headers may lead to DoS","descriptions":[{"lang":"en","value":"Datadog dd-trace-go is a Go client library for Datadog application performance monitoring, profiling, and security monitoring.
