This is incorrect because\n pci_get_device() does not guarantee iteration in domain or bus order,\n so additional UBOX devices may be skipped during the scan.\n\n- Returning -EINVAL is incorrect, since marking offline buses with\n die_id == -1 is expected and should not be treated as an error.\n\nSeparately, when NUMA is disabled on a NUMA-capable platform,\npcibus_to_node() returns NUMA_NO_NODE, causing uncore_device_to_die()\nto return -1 for all PCI devices. As a result,\nspr_update_device_location(), used on Intel SPR and EMR, ignores the\ncorresponding PMON units and does not add them to the RB tree.\n\nFix this by using uncore_pcibus_to_dieid(), which retrieves topology\nfrom the UBOX GIDNIDMAP register and works regardless of whether NUMA\nis enabled in Linux. This requires snbep_pci2phy_map_init() to be\nadded in spr_uncore_pci_init().\n\nKeep uncore_device_to_die() only for the nr_node_ids > 8 case, where\nNUMA is expected to be enabled.","publishedAt":"2026-05-08T13:39:30.537Z","updatedAt":"2026-10-30T12:25:27.301Z","severity":null,"assigner":"Linux","products":["Linux Linux"],"affected":[{"vendor":"Linux","product":"Linux","defaultStatus":"unaffected","versions":[{"version":"9a7832ce3d920426a36cdd78eda4b3568d4d09e3","status":"affected","lessThan":"4eb511275e37c580156e787baab5232aeb0bfea0","versionType":"git"},{"version":"9a7832ce3d920426a36cdd78eda4b3568d4d09e3","status":"affected","lessThan":"184870af0e73f8ea2577c751fa098681465249f2","versionType":"git"},{"version":"9a7832ce3d920426a36cdd78eda4b3568d4d09e3","status":"affected","lessThan":"bdb35811ff41a1678620a407056b6372f350028a","versionType":"git"},{"version":"9a7832ce3d920426a36cdd78eda4b3568d4d09e3","status":"affected","lessThan":"c79ef3342632e71ac8612a2a1cc17ac84dd258b4","versionType":"git"},{"version":"9a7832ce3d920426a36cdd78eda4b3568d4d09e3","status":"affected","lessThan":"6a5dc3ee97581da2907fc7acd62853f07184de67","versionType":"git"},{"version":"9a7832ce3d920426a36cdd78eda4b3568d4d09e3","status":"affected","lessThan":"a16d1ec4dd0cdcf689f324adde6067083bce9099","versionType":"git"}],"repo":"https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/stable/linux.git","programFiles":["arch/x86/events/intel/uncore.c","arch/x86/events/intel/uncore_snbep.c"]},{"vendor":"Linux","product":"Linux","defaultStatus":"affected","versions":[{"version":"5.12","status":"affected"},{"version":"0","status":"unaffected","lessThan":"5.12","versionType":"semver"},{"version":"6.1.191","status":"unaffected","lessThanOrEqual":"6.1.*","versionType":"semver"},{"version":"6.6.157","status":"unaffected","lessThanOrEqual":"6.6.*","versionType":"semver"},{"version":"6.12.109","status":"unaffected","lessThanOrEqual":"6.12.*","versionType":"semver"},{"version":"6.18.50","status":"unaffected","lessThanOrEqual":"6.18.*","versionType":"semver"},{"version":"6.19.14","status":"unaffected","lessThanOrEqual":"6.19.*","versionType":"semver"},{"version":"7.0","status":"unaffected","lessThanOrEqual":"*","versionType":"original_commit_for_fix"}],"repo":"https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/stable/linux.git","programFiles":["arch/x86/events/intel/uncore.c","arch/x86/events/intel/uncore_snbep.c"]}],"references":["https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/4eb511275e37c580156e787baab5232aeb0bfea0","https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/184870af0e73f8ea2577c751fa098681465249f2","https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/bdb35811ff41a1678620a407056b6372f350028a","https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/c79ef3342632e71ac8612a2a1cc17ac84dd258b4","https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/6a5dc3ee97581da2907fc7acd62853f07184de67","https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/a16d1ec4dd0cdcf689f324adde6067083bce9099"],"weaknesses":[],"ingestedAt":"2026-10-30T12:42:04.495Z","source":{"repository":"CVEProject/cvelistV5","path":"cves/2026/43xxx/CVE-2026-43344.json","commit":"db8103c5921aac81d5d90efcf3745980dafabf49","baselineCommit":"556c9d3a8cd17e218bb8e452ba7cd619a384ff47"},"raw":{"dataType":"CVE_RECORD","dataVersion":"5.2","cveMetadata":{"cveId":"CVE-2026-43344","state":"PUBLISHED","datePublished":"2026-05-08T13:39:30.537Z","dateUpdated":"2026-10-30T12:25:27.301Z","assignerShortName":"Linux","assignerOrgId":"416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67","dateReserved":"2026-05-01T14:12:56.003Z"},"containers":{"cna":{"title":"perf/x86/intel/uncore: Fix die ID init and look up bugs","descriptions":[{"lang":"en","value":"In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:\n\nperf/x86/intel/uncore: Fix die ID init and look up bugs\n\nIn snbep_pci2phy_map_init(), in the nr_node_ids > 8 path,\nuncore_device_to_die() may return -1 when all CPUs associated\nwith the UBOX device are offline.\n\nRemove the WARN_ON_ONCE(die_id == -1) check for two reasons:\n\n- The current code breaks out of the loop.
