{"id":"CVE-2026-42188","state":"PUBLISHED","title":"Geyser: Server-Side Request Forgery (SSRF) via Player Head Texture URL","description":"Geyser is a bridge between Minecraft: Bedrock Edition and Minecraft: Java Edition. Prior to 2.9.3, a server-side request forgery (SSRF) vulnerability exists in Geyser’s handling of Bedrock player head texture data. By supplying a crafted Base64-encoded skin texture URL via the /give command, an attacker can cause the Minecraft server to issue arbitrary HTTP GET requests to attacker-controlled or internal endpoints. This occurs server-side, without proper URL validation, and can be triggered by a Bedrock client. This vulnerability is fixed in 2.9.3.","publishedAt":"2026-05-11T21:25:27.303Z","updatedAt":"2026-05-13T14:39:09.024Z","severity":{"score":2.4,"label":"Low","version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:H/UI:R/S:U/C:L/I:N/A:N","source":"GitHub_M"},"assigner":"GitHub_M","products":["GeyserMC Geyser"],"affected":[{"vendor":"GeyserMC","product":"Geyser","versions":[{"version":"< 2.9.3","status":"affected"}]}],"references":["https://github.com/GeyserMC/Geyser/security/advisories/GHSA-xcfg-fcr5-gw9r"],"weaknesses":["CWE-918"],"ingestedAt":"2026-10-29T20:11:57.932Z","source":{"repository":"CVEProject/cvelistV5","path":"cves/2026/42xxx/CVE-2026-42188.json","commit":"556c9d3a8cd17e218bb8e452ba7cd619a384ff47"},"raw":{"dataType":"CVE_RECORD","dataVersion":"5.2","cveMetadata":{"cveId":"CVE-2026-42188","state":"PUBLISHED","datePublished":"2026-05-11T21:25:27.303Z","dateUpdated":"2026-05-13T14:39:09.024Z","assignerShortName":"GitHub_M","assignerOrgId":"a0819718-46f1-4df5-94e2-005712e83aaa","dateReserved":"2026-04-25T01:53:21.583Z"},"containers":{"cna":{"title":"Geyser: Server-Side Request Forgery (SSRF) via Player Head Texture URL","descriptions":[{"lang":"en","value":"Geyser is a bridge between Minecraft: Bedrock Edition and Minecraft: Java Edition.
