{"id":"CVE-2026-4118","state":"PUBLISHED","title":"Call To Action Plugin <= 3.1.3 - Cross-Site Request Forgery via Settings Update","description":"The Call To Action Plugin plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Cross-Site Request Forgery in all versions up to, and including, 3.1.3. This is due to missing nonce validation in the cbox_options_page() function which handles saving, creating, and deleting plugin settings. The form rendered on the settings page does not include a wp_nonce_field(), and the save handler does not call wp_verify_nonce() or check_admin_referer() before processing settings updates via $wpdb->update(). This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to modify plugin settings such as call-to-action box title, content, link URL, image URL, colors, and other configuration options via a forged request, granted they can trick a site administrator into performing an action such as clicking on a link.","publishedAt":"2026-04-22T07:45:36.813Z","updatedAt":"2026-04-22T12:58:39.479Z","severity":{"score":4.3,"label":"Medium","version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:N/I:L/A:N","source":"Wordfence"},"assigner":"Wordfence","products":["tmarek Call To Action Plugin"],"affected":[{"vendor":"tmarek","product":"Call To Action Plugin","defaultStatus":"unaffected","versions":[{"version":"0","status":"affected","lessThanOrEqual":"3.1.3","versionType":"semver"}]}],"references":["https://www.wordfence.com/threat-intel/vulnerabilities/id/6d15f5de-9ec9-466d-aafe-6304356ccb39?source=cve","https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/browser/call-to-action-plugin/trunk/call-to-action-plugin.php#L55","https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/browser/call-to-action-plugin/tags/3.1.3/call-to-action-plugin.php#L55","https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/browser/call-to-action-plugin/trunk/call-to-action-plugin.php#L41","https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/browser/call-to-action-plugin/tags/3.1.3/call-to-action-plugin.php#L41","https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/browser/call-to-action-plugin/trunk/call-to-action-plugin.php#L69","https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/browser/call-to-action-plugin/tags/3.1.3/call-to-action-plugin.php#L69","https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/browser/call-to-action-plugin/trunk/call-to-action-plugin.php#L76","https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/browser/call-to-action-plugin/tags/3.1.3/call-to-action-plugin.php#L76"],"weaknesses":["CWE-352"],"ingestedAt":"2026-10-29T20:12:16.098Z","source":{"repository":"CVEProject/cvelistV5","path":"cves/2026/4xxx/CVE-2026-4118.json","commit":"556c9d3a8cd17e218bb8e452ba7cd619a384ff47"},"raw":{"dataType":"CVE_RECORD","dataVersion":"5.2","cveMetadata":{"cveId":"CVE-2026-4118","state":"PUBLISHED","datePublished":"2026-04-22T07:45:36.813Z","dateUpdated":"2026-04-22T12:58:39.479Z","assignerShortName":"Wordfence","assignerOrgId":"b15e7b5b-3da4-40ae-a43c-f7aa60e62599","dateReserved":"2026-03-13T13:21:19.956Z"},"containers":{"cna":{"title":"Call To Action Plugin <= 3.1.3 - Cross-Site Request Forgery via Settings Update","descriptions":[{"lang":"en","value":"The Call To Action Plugin plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Cross-Site Request Forgery in all versions up to, and including, 3.1.3.
