{"id":"CVE-2026-34767","state":"PUBLISHED","title":"Electron: HTTP Response Header Injection in custom protocol handlers and webRequest","description":"Electron is a framework for writing cross-platform desktop applications using JavaScript, HTML and CSS. Prior to versions 38.8.6, 39.8.3, 40.8.3, and 41.0.3, apps that register custom protocol handlers via protocol.handle() / protocol.registerSchemesAsPrivileged() or modify response headers via webRequest.onHeadersReceived may be vulnerable to HTTP response header injection if attacker-controlled input is reflected into a response header name or value. An attacker who can influence a header value may be able to inject additional response headers, affecting cookies, content security policy, or cross-origin access controls. Apps that do not reflect external input into response headers are not affected. This issue has been patched in versions 38.8.6, 39.8.3, 40.8.3, and 41.0.3.","publishedAt":"2026-04-03T23:43:09.327Z","updatedAt":"2026-04-06T19:07:57.198Z","severity":{"score":5.9,"label":"Medium","version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:H/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:L/I:H/A:N","source":"GitHub_M"},"assigner":"GitHub_M","products":["electron electron"],"affected":[{"vendor":"electron","product":"electron","versions":[{"version":"< 38.8.6","status":"affected"},{"version":">= 39.0.0-alpha.1, < 39.8.3","status":"affected"},{"version":">= 40.0.0-alpha.1, < 40.8.3","status":"affected"},{"version":">= 41.0.0-alpha.1, < 41.0.3","status":"affected"}]}],"references":["https://github.com/electron/electron/security/advisories/GHSA-4p4r-m79c-wq3v"],"weaknesses":["CWE-74","CWE-113"],"ingestedAt":"2026-10-29T20:11:40.391Z","source":{"repository":"CVEProject/cvelistV5","path":"cves/2026/34xxx/CVE-2026-34767.json","commit":"556c9d3a8cd17e218bb8e452ba7cd619a384ff47"},"raw":{"dataType":"CVE_RECORD","dataVersion":"5.2","cveMetadata":{"cveId":"CVE-2026-34767","state":"PUBLISHED","datePublished":"2026-04-03T23:43:09.327Z","dateUpdated":"2026-04-06T19:07:57.198Z","assignerShortName":"GitHub_M","assignerOrgId":"a0819718-46f1-4df5-94e2-005712e83aaa","dateReserved":"2026-03-30T19:54:55.555Z"},"containers":{"cna":{"title":"Electron: HTTP Response Header Injection in custom protocol handlers and webRequest","descriptions":[{"lang":"en","value":"Electron is a framework for writing cross-platform desktop applications using JavaScript, HTML and CSS.
