{"id":"CVE-2026-34361","state":"PUBLISHED","title":"HAPI FHIR: Unauthenticated SSRF via /loadIG Chains with startsWith() Credential Leak for Authentication Token Theft","description":"HAPI FHIR is a complete implementation of the HL7 FHIR standard for healthcare interoperability in Java. Prior to version 6.9.4, the FHIR Validator HTTP service exposes an unauthenticated \"/loadIG\" endpoint that makes outbound HTTP requests to attacker-controlled URLs. Combined with a startsWith() URL prefix matching flaw in the credential provider (ManagedWebAccessUtils.getServer()), an attacker can steal authentication tokens (Bearer, Basic, API keys) configured for legitimate FHIR servers by registering a domain that prefix-matches a configured server URL. This issue has been patched in version 6.9.4.","publishedAt":"2026-03-31T16:56:11.163Z","updatedAt":"2026-03-31T17:24:58.558Z","severity":{"score":9.3,"label":"Critical","version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:C/C:H/I:L/A:N","source":"GitHub_M"},"assigner":"GitHub_M","products":["hapifhir org.hl7.fhir.core"],"affected":[{"vendor":"hapifhir","product":"org.hl7.fhir.core","versions":[{"version":"< 6.9.4","status":"affected"}]}],"references":["https://github.com/hapifhir/org.hl7.fhir.core/security/advisories/GHSA-vr79-8m62-wh98"],"weaknesses":["CWE-552"],"ingestedAt":"2026-10-29T20:11:40.391Z","source":{"repository":"CVEProject/cvelistV5","path":"cves/2026/34xxx/CVE-2026-34361.json","commit":"556c9d3a8cd17e218bb8e452ba7cd619a384ff47"},"raw":{"dataType":"CVE_RECORD","dataVersion":"5.2","cveMetadata":{"cveId":"CVE-2026-34361","state":"PUBLISHED","datePublished":"2026-03-31T16:56:11.163Z","dateUpdated":"2026-03-31T17:24:58.558Z","assignerShortName":"GitHub_M","assignerOrgId":"a0819718-46f1-4df5-94e2-005712e83aaa","dateReserved":"2026-03-27T13:43:14.368Z"},"containers":{"cna":{"title":"HAPI FHIR: Unauthenticated SSRF via /loadIG Chains with startsWith() Credential Leak for Authentication Token Theft","descriptions":[{"lang":"en","value":"HAPI FHIR is a complete implementation of the HL7 FHIR standard for healthcare interoperability in Java.
