In version 2.7.3, the /api/v1/convert/eml/pdf endpoint with parameter downloadHtml=true returns unsanitized HTML from the email body with Content-Type: text/html. An attacker who sends a malicious email to a Stirling-PDF user can achieve JavaScript execution when that user exports the email using the \"Download HTML intermediate file\" feature. Version 2.8.0 fixes the issue.","publishedAt":"2026-03-26T17:00:08.783Z","updatedAt":"2026-03-26T19:52:10.821Z","severity":{"score":5.4,"label":"Medium","version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:L/I:L/A:N","source":"GitHub_M"},"assigner":"GitHub_M","products":["Stirling-Tools Stirling-PDF"],"affected":[{"vendor":"Stirling-Tools","product":"Stirling-PDF","versions":[{"version":"= 2.7.3","status":"affected"}]}],"references":["https://github.com/Stirling-Tools/Stirling-PDF/security/advisories/GHSA-xmhg-fv84-jgfc"],"weaknesses":["CWE-79"],"ingestedAt":"2026-10-29T20:11:40.391Z","source":{"repository":"CVEProject/cvelistV5","path":"cves/2026/34xxx/CVE-2026-34071.json","commit":"556c9d3a8cd17e218bb8e452ba7cd619a384ff47"},"raw":{"dataType":"CVE_RECORD","dataVersion":"5.2","cveMetadata":{"cveId":"CVE-2026-34071","state":"PUBLISHED","datePublished":"2026-03-26T17:00:08.783Z","dateUpdated":"2026-03-26T19:52:10.821Z","assignerShortName":"GitHub_M","assignerOrgId":"a0819718-46f1-4df5-94e2-005712e83aaa","dateReserved":"2026-03-25T16:21:40.867Z"},"containers":{"cna":{"title":"Stirling-PDF has Stored Cross Site Scripting (XSS) via EML-to-HTML Export","descriptions":[{"lang":"en","value":"Stirling-PDF is a locally hosted web application that allows you to perform various operations on PDF files.
