{"id":"CVE-2026-33769","state":"PUBLISHED","title":"Astro: Remote allowlist bypass via unanchored matchPathname wildcard","description":"Astro is a web framework. From version 2.10.10 to before version 5.18.1, this issue concerns Astro's remotePatterns path enforcement for remote URLs used by server-side fetchers such as the image optimization endpoint. The path matching logic for /* wildcards is unanchored, so a pathname that contains the allowed prefix later in the path can still match. As a result, an attacker can fetch paths outside the intended allowlisted prefix on an otherwise allowed host. This issue has been patched in version 5.18.1.","publishedAt":"2026-03-24T18:44:29.169Z","updatedAt":"2026-03-24T20:13:25.845Z","severity":{"score":2.9,"label":"Low","version":"4.0","vector":"CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:P/PR:N/UI:N/VC:L/VI:N/VA:N/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N/E:P","source":"GitHub_M"},"assigner":"GitHub_M","products":["withastro astro"],"affected":[{"vendor":"withastro","product":"astro","versions":[{"version":">= 2.10.10, < 5.18.1","status":"affected"}]}],"references":["https://github.com/withastro/astro/security/advisories/GHSA-g735-7g2w-hh3f"],"weaknesses":["CWE-20"],"ingestedAt":"2026-10-29T20:11:40.391Z","source":{"repository":"CVEProject/cvelistV5","path":"cves/2026/33xxx/CVE-2026-33769.json","commit":"556c9d3a8cd17e218bb8e452ba7cd619a384ff47"},"raw":{"dataType":"CVE_RECORD","dataVersion":"5.2","cveMetadata":{"cveId":"CVE-2026-33769","state":"PUBLISHED","datePublished":"2026-03-24T18:44:29.169Z","dateUpdated":"2026-03-24T20:13:25.845Z","assignerShortName":"GitHub_M","assignerOrgId":"a0819718-46f1-4df5-94e2-005712e83aaa","dateReserved":"2026-03-23T18:30:14.127Z"},"containers":{"cna":{"title":"Astro: Remote allowlist bypass via unanchored matchPathname wildcard","descriptions":[{"lang":"en","value":"Astro is a web framework.
