The script registers the Python eval() function as a Hydra configuration resolver under the name eval. This allows configuration files to execute arbitrary Python code via the ${eval:...} syntax. An attacker can exploit this by providing a malicious configuration file, leading to arbitrary code execution when the training script is run with that configuration.","publishedAt":"2026-05-11T00:00:00.000Z","updatedAt":"2026-05-12T18:59:01.836Z","severity":{"score":7.3,"label":"High","version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:L/I:L/A:L","source":"CISA-ADP"},"assigner":"mitre","products":["n/a n/a"],"affected":[{"vendor":"n/a","product":"n/a","versions":[{"version":"n/a","status":"affected"}]}],"references":["https://www.notion.so/CVE-2026-31254-35d1e139318881a19003f0d635ff00df"],"weaknesses":["CWE-95"],"ingestedAt":"2026-10-29T20:11:40.391Z","source":{"repository":"CVEProject/cvelistV5","path":"cves/2026/31xxx/CVE-2026-31254.json","commit":"556c9d3a8cd17e218bb8e452ba7cd619a384ff47"},"raw":{"dataType":"CVE_RECORD","dataVersion":"5.2","cveMetadata":{"cveId":"CVE-2026-31254","state":"PUBLISHED","datePublished":"2026-05-11T00:00:00.000Z","dateUpdated":"2026-05-12T18:59:01.836Z","assignerShortName":"mitre","assignerOrgId":"8254265b-2729-46b6-b9e3-3dfca2d5bfca","dateReserved":"2026-03-09T00:00:00.000Z"},"containers":{"cna":{"descriptions":[{"lang":"en","value":"The flash-attention project thru commit e724e2588cbe754beb97cf7c011b5e7e34119e62 (2025-13-04) contains a code injection vulnerability (CWE-94) in its training script.
