{"id":"CVE-2026-30938","state":"PUBLISHED","title":"Parse Server has denylist `requestKeywordDenylist` keyword scan bypass through nested object placement","description":"Parse Server is an open source backend that can be deployed to any infrastructure that can run Node.js. Prior to 8.6.12 and 9.5.1-alpha.1, the requestKeywordDenylist security control can be bypassed by placing any nested object or array before a prohibited keyword in the request payload. This is caused by a logic bug that stops scanning sibling keys after encountering the first nested value. Any custom requestKeywordDenylist entries configured by the developer are equally by-passable using the same technique. All Parse Server deployments are affected. The requestKeywordDenylist is enabled by default. This vulnerability is fixed in 8.6.12 and 9.5.1-alpha.1. Use a Cloud Code beforeSave trigger to validate incoming data for prohibited keywords across all classes.","publishedAt":"2026-03-10T16:34:02.930Z","updatedAt":"2026-03-10T17:01:16.003Z","severity":{"score":6.9,"label":"Medium","version":"4.0","vector":"CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:N/VC:N/VI:L/VA:N/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N","source":"GitHub_M"},"assigner":"GitHub_M","products":["parse-community parse-server"],"affected":[{"vendor":"parse-community","product":"parse-server","versions":[{"version":"< 8.6.12","status":"affected"},{"version":">= 9.0.0 < 9.5.1-alpha.1","status":"affected"}]}],"references":["https://github.com/parse-community/parse-server/security/advisories/GHSA-q342-9w2p-57fp","https://github.com/parse-community/parse-server/releases/tag/8.6.12","https://github.com/parse-community/parse-server/releases/tag/9.5.1-alpha.1"],"weaknesses":["CWE-693"],"ingestedAt":"2026-10-29T20:11:31.369Z","source":{"repository":"CVEProject/cvelistV5","path":"cves/2026/30xxx/CVE-2026-30938.json","commit":"556c9d3a8cd17e218bb8e452ba7cd619a384ff47"},"raw":{"dataType":"CVE_RECORD","dataVersion":"5.2","cveMetadata":{"cveId":"CVE-2026-30938","state":"PUBLISHED","datePublished":"2026-03-10T16:34:02.930Z","dateUpdated":"2026-03-10T17:01:16.003Z","assignerShortName":"GitHub_M","assignerOrgId":"a0819718-46f1-4df5-94e2-005712e83aaa","dateReserved":"2026-03-07T17:34:39.978Z"},"containers":{"cna":{"title":"Parse Server has denylist `requestKeywordDenylist` keyword scan bypass through nested object placement","descriptions":[{"lang":"en","value":"Parse Server is an open source backend that can be deployed to any infrastructure that can run Node.js.
