{"id":"CVE-2026-17196","state":"PUBLISHED","title":"Super Forms <= 6.3.316 - Authenticated (Subscriber+) Arbitrary File Upload via 'extensions' Form Element Attribute","description":"The Super Forms – Drag & Drop Form Builder plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Unrestricted File Type Upload in all versions up to, and including, 6.3.316 via the upload_files function. This is due to missing file type validation in the upload_files function, which reads and applies an attacker-controlled extensions string from _super_elements post meta verbatim as the allowed MIME type map. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with Subscriber-level access and above, to upload files that may be executable, which makes remote code execution possible. The attack requires a preceding step: poisoning the _super_elements post meta via the super_save_form AJAX handler, which lacks a capability and nonce check but requires the attacker to be authenticated as at minimum a Subscriber-level user; the subsequent file upload via super_upload_files requires no authentication at all.","publishedAt":"2026-10-08T04:28:51.005Z","updatedAt":"2026-10-08T17:54:41.191Z","severity":{"score":8.8,"label":"High","version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H","source":"Wordfence"},"assigner":"Wordfence","products":["WebRehab Super Forms – Drag & Drop Form Builder"],"affected":[{"vendor":"WebRehab","product":"Super Forms – Drag & Drop Form Builder","defaultStatus":"unaffected","versions":[{"version":"0","status":"affected","lessThanOrEqual":"6.3.316","versionType":"semver"}]}],"references":["https://www.wordfence.com/threat-intel/vulnerabilities/id/63db136b-58da-4758-a506-4dc79b3c177d?source=cve","https://github.com/RensTillmann/super-forms/pull/205"],"weaknesses":["CWE-434"],"ingestedAt":"2026-10-29T20:11:00.674Z","source":{"repository":"CVEProject/cvelistV5","path":"cves/2026/17xxx/CVE-2026-17196.json","commit":"556c9d3a8cd17e218bb8e452ba7cd619a384ff47"},"raw":{"dataType":"CVE_RECORD","dataVersion":"5.2","cveMetadata":{"cveId":"CVE-2026-17196","state":"PUBLISHED","datePublished":"2026-10-08T04:28:51.005Z","dateUpdated":"2026-10-08T17:54:41.191Z","assignerShortName":"Wordfence","assignerOrgId":"b15e7b5b-3da4-40ae-a43c-f7aa60e62599","dateReserved":"2026-07-24T19:06:25.821Z"},"containers":{"cna":{"title":"Super Forms <= 6.3.316 - Authenticated (Subscriber+) Arbitrary File Upload via 'extensions' Form Element Attribute","descriptions":[{"lang":"en","value":"The Super Forms – Drag & Drop Form Builder plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Unrestricted File Type Upload in all versions up to, and including, 6.3.316 via the upload_files function.
