{"id":"CVE-2026-15450","state":"PUBLISHED","title":"NEX-Forms <= 9.2.3 - Authenticated (Admin+) Arbitrary File Deletion via Path Traversal via 'location' Parameter","description":"The Nex Forms – Ultimate Form Builder – Lite plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to arbitrary file deletion via path traversal in versions up to, and including, 9.2.3. This is due to the delete_file() AJAX handler retrieving a file path from the database and passing it directly to unlink() with no validation (no realpath(), basename(), or allowlist check), combined with the insert_record() AJAX handler that lets the same authenticated user store an arbitrary value in the target 'location' column (wp_kses() only strips HTML tags and does not neutralize path traversal or absolute paths). This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with admin-level access and above, to delete arbitrary files on the affected site's server, including wp-config. When the plugin's user-level option is configured to something else, this may be exploitable with lower privileges.","publishedAt":"2026-08-01T07:49:51.535Z","updatedAt":"2026-08-03T19:25:59.037Z","severity":{"score":8.1,"label":"High","version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:H/A:H","source":"Wordfence"},"assigner":"Wordfence","products":["webaways NEX-Forms – Ultimate Forms Plugin for WordPress"],"affected":[{"vendor":"webaways","product":"NEX-Forms – Ultimate Forms Plugin for WordPress","defaultStatus":"unaffected","versions":[{"version":"0","status":"affected","lessThanOrEqual":"9.2.3","versionType":"semver"}]}],"references":["https://www.wordfence.com/threat-intel/vulnerabilities/id/bb5c8cb3-df67-4f2c-869a-48e34f5619ff?source=cve","https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/browser/nex-forms-express-wp-form-builder/tags/9.2.3/includes/classes/class.db.php#L805","https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/browser/nex-forms-express-wp-form-builder/tags/9.2.3/includes/classes/class.db.php#L269","https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/browser/nex-forms-express-wp-form-builder/tags/9.2.3/includes/classes/class.db.php#L273","https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/changeset?reponame=&old=3625615%40nex-forms-express-wp-form-builder&new=3625615%40nex-forms-express-wp-form-builder"],"weaknesses":["CWE-22"],"ingestedAt":"2026-10-29T20:11:00.674Z","source":{"repository":"CVEProject/cvelistV5","path":"cves/2026/15xxx/CVE-2026-15450.json","commit":"556c9d3a8cd17e218bb8e452ba7cd619a384ff47"},"raw":{"dataType":"CVE_RECORD","dataVersion":"5.2","cveMetadata":{"cveId":"CVE-2026-15450","state":"PUBLISHED","datePublished":"2026-08-01T07:49:51.535Z","dateUpdated":"2026-08-03T19:25:59.037Z","assignerShortName":"Wordfence","assignerOrgId":"b15e7b5b-3da4-40ae-a43c-f7aa60e62599","dateReserved":"2026-07-10T19:27:33.129Z"},"containers":{"cna":{"title":"NEX-Forms <= 9.2.3 - Authenticated (Admin+) Arbitrary File Deletion via Path Traversal via 'location' Parameter","descriptions":[{"lang":"en","value":"The Nex Forms – Ultimate Form Builder – Lite plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to arbitrary file deletion via path traversal in versions up to, and including, 9.2.3.
