{"id":"CVE-2026-116583","state":"PUBLISHED","title":"Seroval: Code injection through a typed array's own constructor property","description":"Seroval facilitates JavaScript value stringification, including complex structures beyond JSON.stringify capabilities. From 1.6.0 until 1.6.11, the JavaScript-output APIs derive a typed array's constructor name from a property on the value that can be replaced by an own constructor property. When application code copies untrusted properties onto a typed array and then passes it to serialize, serializeAsync, crossSerialize, crossSerializeAsync, crossSerializeStream, Serializer, or compileJSON, the attacker-controlled name is written as executable JavaScript and can run in the page receiving the output. This issue is fixed in version 1.6.11.","publishedAt":"2026-10-26T20:49:35.952Z","updatedAt":"2026-10-27T14:18:01.418Z","severity":{"score":5.3,"label":"Medium","version":"4.0","vector":"CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:H/AT:P/PR:N/UI:P/VC:N/VI:N/VA:N/SC:H/SI:H/SA:N","source":"GitHub_M"},"assigner":"GitHub_M","products":["lxsmnsyc seroval"],"affected":[{"vendor":"lxsmnsyc","product":"seroval","versions":[{"version":">= 1.6.0, < 1.6.11","status":"affected"}]}],"references":["https://github.com/lxsmnsyc/seroval/security/advisories/GHSA-f86p-h4j2-7qgj","https://github.com/lxsmnsyc/seroval/commit/1313ebbad9687bc0245e08bfd576376e57e0e5c1","https://github.com/lxsmnsyc/seroval/releases/tag/seroval@1.6.11"],"weaknesses":["CWE-79","CWE-94"],"ingestedAt":"2026-10-29T20:10:43.281Z","source":{"repository":"CVEProject/cvelistV5","path":"cves/2026/116xxx/CVE-2026-116583.json","commit":"556c9d3a8cd17e218bb8e452ba7cd619a384ff47"},"raw":{"dataType":"CVE_RECORD","dataVersion":"5.2","cveMetadata":{"cveId":"CVE-2026-116583","state":"PUBLISHED","datePublished":"2026-10-26T20:49:35.952Z","dateUpdated":"2026-10-27T14:18:01.418Z","assignerShortName":"GitHub_M","assignerOrgId":"a0819718-46f1-4df5-94e2-005712e83aaa","dateReserved":"2026-10-26T15:03:39.035Z"},"containers":{"cna":{"title":"Seroval: Code injection through a typed array's own constructor property","descriptions":[{"lang":"en","value":"Seroval facilitates JavaScript value stringification, including complex structures beyond JSON.stringify capabilities.
