{"id":"CVE-2026-114606","state":"PUBLISHED","title":"draw.io Desktop: Arbitrary local-file read via read-side IPC (no blessed-path gate)","description":"draw.io Desktop is the official Electron build of draw.io. Prior to 31.4.4, draw.io Desktop is vulnerable to arbitrary local-file disclosure through the Electron main process's read-side IPC handlers. The readFile, getFileDrafts, getBkpFile, fileStat, isFileWritable, checkFileExists, and watchFile actions operate on a renderer-chosen filesystem path with no blessed-path (assertWritablePath) authorization. The only gates are validateSender — a URL-prefix origin check — plus, for readFile alone, a content \"sniff\" and a lexical appBaseDir prefix block. The write-side handlers (saveFile, writeFile, saveDraft, deleteFile) are all protected by assertWritablePath; the read side is not. The result is a read/write authorization asymmetry: any frame executing in the app's file:// origin can read the contents of local files that the same origin is explicitly forbidden to write. This issue is fixed in version 31.4.4.","publishedAt":"2026-10-22T16:35:34.251Z","updatedAt":"2026-10-30T19:22:29.193Z","severity":{"score":5.6,"label":"Medium","version":"4.0","vector":"CVSS:4.0/AV:L/AC:L/AT:P/PR:N/UI:A/VC:H/VI:N/VA:N/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N","source":"GitHub_M"},"assigner":"GitHub_M","products":["jgraph drawio-desktop"],"affected":[{"vendor":"jgraph","product":"drawio-desktop","versions":[{"version":"< 31.4.4","status":"affected"}]}],"references":["https://github.com/jgraph/drawio-desktop/security/advisories/GHSA-fjgc-8xgj-rvh4","https://github.com/jgraph/drawio-desktop/commit/9c933514b8bcc90a91d88c685525a8885de4027e","https://github.com/jgraph/drawio-desktop/releases/tag/v31.4.4"],"weaknesses":["CWE-22","CWE-200"],"ingestedAt":"2026-10-30T19:48:04.455Z","source":{"repository":"CVEProject/cvelistV5","path":"cves/2026/114xxx/CVE-2026-114606.json","commit":"91beacf46587178cb335e3399e6db92524d41de0","baselineCommit":"556c9d3a8cd17e218bb8e452ba7cd619a384ff47"},"raw":{"dataType":"CVE_RECORD","dataVersion":"5.2","cveMetadata":{"cveId":"CVE-2026-114606","state":"PUBLISHED","datePublished":"2026-10-22T16:35:34.251Z","dateUpdated":"2026-10-30T19:22:29.193Z","assignerShortName":"GitHub_M","assignerOrgId":"a0819718-46f1-4df5-94e2-005712e83aaa","dateReserved":"2026-10-21T20:34:25.599Z"},"containers":{"cna":{"title":"draw.io Desktop: Arbitrary local-file read via read-side IPC (no blessed-path gate)","descriptions":[{"lang":"en","value":"draw.io Desktop is the official Electron build of draw.io.
