{"id":"CVE-2026-11367","state":"PUBLISHED","title":"PixMagix <= 1.7.2 - Authenticated (Author+) Path Traversal in 'layers[].id' Parameter","description":"The PixMagix – WordPress Image Editor plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Directory Traversal in all versions up to, and including, 1.7.2 via the move_image_on_server function. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with author-level access and above, to write files with attacker-controlled content to arbitrary locations on the server. The unsanitized 'layers[].id' parameter is concatenated into a filesystem path and passed to PHP's copy() function, allowing traversal sequences (e.g. '../../') to escape the intended upload directory and write attacker-supplied file contents to arbitrary paths accessible by the web server process. The save_template REST endpoint is gated by the create_projects permission (edit_pixmagix + upload_files), which Author-level users hold by default after plugin activation, making this exploitable by any Author on sites running PixMagix.","publishedAt":"2026-06-30T04:30:18.532Z","updatedAt":"2026-06-30T12:22:56.084Z","severity":{"score":6.5,"label":"Medium","version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:N/A:N","source":"Wordfence"},"assigner":"Wordfence","products":["andrasweb PixMagix – WordPress Image Editor"],"affected":[{"vendor":"andrasweb","product":"PixMagix – WordPress Image Editor","defaultStatus":"unaffected","versions":[{"version":"0","status":"affected","lessThanOrEqual":"1.7.2","versionType":"semver"}]}],"references":["https://www.wordfence.com/threat-intel/vulnerabilities/id/c87adbd9-3b09-403e-921a-31b3f58962e9?source=cve","https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/browser/pixmagix/tags/1.7.2/includes/utils.php#L465","https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/browser/pixmagix/tags/1.7.2/includes/rest-api/rest-callback-save-template.php#L103","https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/browser/pixmagix/tags/1.7.2/includes/rest-api/rest-callback-save-template.php#L91"],"weaknesses":["CWE-22"],"ingestedAt":"2026-10-29T20:10:52.580Z","source":{"repository":"CVEProject/cvelistV5","path":"cves/2026/11xxx/CVE-2026-11367.json","commit":"556c9d3a8cd17e218bb8e452ba7cd619a384ff47"},"raw":{"dataType":"CVE_RECORD","dataVersion":"5.2","cveMetadata":{"cveId":"CVE-2026-11367","state":"PUBLISHED","datePublished":"2026-06-30T04:30:18.532Z","dateUpdated":"2026-06-30T12:22:56.084Z","assignerShortName":"Wordfence","assignerOrgId":"b15e7b5b-3da4-40ae-a43c-f7aa60e62599","dateReserved":"2026-06-05T11:58:32.095Z"},"containers":{"cna":{"title":"PixMagix <= 1.7.2 - Authenticated (Author+) Path Traversal in 'layers[].id' Parameter","descriptions":[{"lang":"en","value":"The PixMagix – WordPress Image Editor plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Directory Traversal in all versions up to, and including, 1.7.2 via the move_image_on_server function.
