{"id":"CVE-2026-105795","state":"PUBLISHED","title":"Kiota: Unsafe oauth_card_path references in Kiota-generated API plugin manifests","description":"Kiota is an OpenAPI based HTTP Client code generator. From 1.25.1 until 1.35.0, Kiota copies x-ai-capabilities.response_semantics.oauth_card_path from an attacker-controlled or compromised OpenAPI description into a generated API plugin manifest without validating that the value is a safe package-relative file reference. Parent-directory traversal, rooted paths, or absolute URIs can therefore reach a consuming host that resolves the reference, allowing the host to cross the intended plugin-package boundary or use an unintended authentication card. Kiota does not itself read a local file or execute code merely while generating the manifest, and impact requires downstream resolution of the unsafe reference. This issue is fixed in version 1.35.0.","publishedAt":"2026-10-06T14:19:03.186Z","updatedAt":"2026-10-06T17:17:57.409Z","severity":{"score":3.1,"label":"Low","version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:H/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:N/I:L/A:N","source":"GitHub_M"},"assigner":"GitHub_M","products":["microsoft kiota","microsoft Microsoft.OpenApi.Kiota","microsoft Microsoft.OpenApi.Kiota.Builder"],"affected":[{"vendor":"microsoft","product":"kiota","versions":[{"version":">= 1.25.1, < 1.35.0","status":"affected"}]},{"vendor":"microsoft","product":"Microsoft.OpenApi.Kiota","versions":[{"version":">= 1.25.1, < 1.35.0","status":"affected"}]},{"vendor":"microsoft","product":"Microsoft.OpenApi.Kiota.Builder","versions":[{"version":">= 1.25.1, < 1.35.0","status":"affected"}]}],"references":["https://github.com/microsoft/kiota/security/advisories/GHSA-6gw6-rv2g-25mg","https://github.com/microsoft/kiota/pull/8055","https://github.com/microsoft/kiota/commit/fc0f219b8a665c4c69be8befcff035ba0eb8e4ce","https://github.com/microsoft/kiota/releases/tag/v1.35.0"],"weaknesses":["CWE-22"],"ingestedAt":"2026-10-29T20:10:23.711Z","source":{"repository":"CVEProject/cvelistV5","path":"cves/2026/105xxx/CVE-2026-105795.json","commit":"556c9d3a8cd17e218bb8e452ba7cd619a384ff47"},"raw":{"dataType":"CVE_RECORD","dataVersion":"5.2","cveMetadata":{"cveId":"CVE-2026-105795","state":"PUBLISHED","datePublished":"2026-10-06T14:19:03.186Z","dateUpdated":"2026-10-06T17:17:57.409Z","assignerShortName":"GitHub_M","assignerOrgId":"a0819718-46f1-4df5-94e2-005712e83aaa","dateReserved":"2026-10-05T20:37:19.364Z"},"containers":{"cna":{"title":"Kiota: Unsafe oauth_card_path references in Kiota-generated API plugin manifests","descriptions":[{"lang":"en","value":"Kiota is an OpenAPI based HTTP Client code generator.
