{"id":"CVE-2025-68616","state":"PUBLISHED","title":"WeasyPrint Vulnerable to Server-Side Request Forgery (SSRF) Protection Bypass via HTTP Redirect","description":"WeasyPrint helps web developers to create PDF documents. Prior to version 68.0, a server-side request forgery (SSRF) protection bypass exists in WeasyPrint's `default_url_fetcher`. The vulnerability allows attackers to access internal network resources (such as `localhost` services or cloud metadata endpoints) even when a developer has implemented a custom `url_fetcher` to block such access. This occurs because the underlying `urllib` library follows HTTP redirects automatically without re-validating the new destination against the developer's security policy. Version 68.0 contains a patch for the issue.","publishedAt":"2026-01-19T15:20:23.702Z","updatedAt":"2026-07-15T01:24:59.934Z","severity":{"score":7.5,"label":"High","version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:N/A:N","source":"GitHub_M"},"assigner":"GitHub_M","products":["Kozea WeasyPrint"],"affected":[{"vendor":"Kozea","product":"WeasyPrint","versions":[{"version":"< 68.0","status":"affected"}]}],"references":["https://github.com/Kozea/WeasyPrint/security/advisories/GHSA-983w-rhvv-gwmv","https://github.com/Kozea/WeasyPrint/commit/b6a14f0f3f4ce9c0c75c1a2d73cb1c5d43f0e565","https://access.redhat.com/security/cve/CVE-2025-68616","https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2430858","https://security.access.redhat.com/data/csaf/v2/vex/2025/cve-2025-68616.json"],"weaknesses":["CWE-601","CWE-918"],"ingestedAt":"2026-10-29T20:09:56.034Z","source":{"repository":"CVEProject/cvelistV5","path":"cves/2025/68xxx/CVE-2025-68616.json","commit":"556c9d3a8cd17e218bb8e452ba7cd619a384ff47"},"raw":{"dataType":"CVE_RECORD","dataVersion":"5.2","cveMetadata":{"cveId":"CVE-2025-68616","state":"PUBLISHED","datePublished":"2026-01-19T15:20:23.702Z","dateUpdated":"2026-07-15T01:24:59.934Z","assignerShortName":"GitHub_M","assignerOrgId":"a0819718-46f1-4df5-94e2-005712e83aaa","dateReserved":"2025-12-19T14:58:47.824Z"},"containers":{"cna":{"title":"WeasyPrint Vulnerable to Server-Side Request Forgery (SSRF) Protection Bypass via HTTP Redirect","descriptions":[{"lang":"en","value":"WeasyPrint helps web developers to create PDF documents.
