{"id":"CVE-2025-68274","state":"PUBLISHED","title":"SIPGO library has response DoS vulnerability via nil pointer dereference","description":"SIPGO is a library for writing SIP services in the GO language. Starting in version 0.3.0 and prior to version 1.0.0-alpha-1, a nil pointer dereference vulnerability is in the SIPGO library's `NewResponseFromRequest` function that affects all normal SIP operations. The vulnerability allows remote attackers to crash any SIP application by sending a single malformed SIP request without a To header. The vulnerability occurs when SIP message parsing succeeds for a request missing the To header, but the response creation code assumes the To header exists without proper nil checks. This affects routine operations like call setup, authentication, and message handling - not just error cases. This vulnerability affects all SIP applications using the sipgo library, not just specific configurations or edge cases, as long as they make use of the `NewResponseFromRequest` function. Version 1.0.0-alpha-1 contains a patch for the issue.","publishedAt":"2025-12-16T22:02:55.360Z","updatedAt":"2025-12-17T21:15:10.262Z","severity":{"score":8.7,"label":"High","version":"4.0","vector":"CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:N/VC:N/VI:N/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N","source":"GitHub_M"},"assigner":"GitHub_M","products":["emiago sipgo"],"affected":[{"vendor":"emiago","product":"sipgo","versions":[{"version":">= v0.3.0, < v1.0.0-alpha-1","status":"affected"}]}],"references":["https://github.com/emiago/sipgo/security/advisories/GHSA-c623-f998-8hhv","https://github.com/emiago/sipgo/commit/dc9669364a154ec6d134e542f6a63c31b5afe6e8"],"weaknesses":["CWE-476","CWE-755"],"ingestedAt":"2026-10-29T20:09:56.034Z","source":{"repository":"CVEProject/cvelistV5","path":"cves/2025/68xxx/CVE-2025-68274.json","commit":"556c9d3a8cd17e218bb8e452ba7cd619a384ff47"},"raw":{"dataType":"CVE_RECORD","dataVersion":"5.2","cveMetadata":{"cveId":"CVE-2025-68274","state":"PUBLISHED","datePublished":"2025-12-16T22:02:55.360Z","dateUpdated":"2025-12-17T21:15:10.262Z","assignerShortName":"GitHub_M","assignerOrgId":"a0819718-46f1-4df5-94e2-005712e83aaa","dateReserved":"2025-12-16T14:05:31.364Z"},"containers":{"cna":{"title":"SIPGO library has response DoS vulnerability via nil pointer dereference","descriptions":[{"lang":"en","value":"SIPGO is a library for writing SIP services in the GO language.
