{"id":"CVE-2025-58768","state":"PUBLISHED","title":"DeepChat's Mermaid rendering has XSS leading to RCE","description":"DeepChat is a smart assistant uses artificial intelligence. Prior to version 0.3.5, in the Mermaid chart rendering component, there is a risky operation of directly using `innerHTML` to set user content. Therefore, any malicious content rendered via Mermaid will directly trigger the exploit chain, leading to command execution. This vulnerability is primarily caused by a failure to fully address the existing XSS issue in the project, leading to another exploit chain. The exploit chain is consistent with the report GHSA-hqr4-4gfc-5p2j, executing arbitrary JavaScript code via XSS and arbitrary commands via exposed IPC. Version 0.3.5 contains an updated fix.","publishedAt":"2025-09-09T20:19:52.122Z","updatedAt":"2025-09-09T20:31:54.042Z","severity":{"score":9.7,"label":"Critical","version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:C/C:H/I:H/A:H","source":"GitHub_M"},"assigner":"GitHub_M","products":["ThinkInAIXYZ deepchat"],"affected":[{"vendor":"ThinkInAIXYZ","product":"deepchat","versions":[{"version":"< 0.3.5","status":"affected"}]}],"references":["https://github.com/ThinkInAIXYZ/deepchat/security/advisories/GHSA-f7q5-vc93-wp6j"],"weaknesses":["CWE-94"],"ingestedAt":"2026-10-29T20:09:39.787Z","source":{"repository":"CVEProject/cvelistV5","path":"cves/2025/58xxx/CVE-2025-58768.json","commit":"556c9d3a8cd17e218bb8e452ba7cd619a384ff47"},"raw":{"dataType":"CVE_RECORD","dataVersion":"5.1","cveMetadata":{"cveId":"CVE-2025-58768","state":"PUBLISHED","datePublished":"2025-09-09T20:19:52.122Z","dateUpdated":"2025-09-09T20:31:54.042Z","assignerShortName":"GitHub_M","assignerOrgId":"a0819718-46f1-4df5-94e2-005712e83aaa","dateReserved":"2025-09-04T19:18:09.501Z"},"containers":{"cna":{"title":"DeepChat's Mermaid rendering has XSS leading to RCE","descriptions":[{"lang":"en","value":"DeepChat is a smart assistant uses artificial intelligence.
