{"id":"CVE-2025-49150","state":"PUBLISHED","title":"Cursor Agent Potentially Leaks Information using JSON schema","description":"Cursor is a code editor built for programming with AI. Prior to 0.51.0, by default, the setting json.schemaDownload.enable was set to True. This means that by writing a JSON file, an attacker can trigger an arbitrary HTTP GET request that does not require user confirmation. Since the Cursor Agent can edit JSON files, this means a malicious agent, for example, after a prompt injection attack already succeeded, could trigger a GET request to an attacker controlled URL, potentially exfiltrating other data the agent may have access to. This vulnerability is fixed in 0.51.0.","publishedAt":"2025-06-11T17:49:43.910Z","updatedAt":"2025-06-11T18:19:11.056Z","severity":{"score":5.9,"label":"Medium","version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:H/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:N/A:N","source":"GitHub_M"},"assigner":"GitHub_M","products":["getcursor cursor"],"affected":[{"vendor":"getcursor","product":"cursor","versions":[{"version":"< 0.51.0","status":"affected"}]}],"references":["https://github.com/getcursor/cursor/security/advisories/GHSA-9h3v-h59j-v6rj"],"weaknesses":["CWE-200"],"ingestedAt":"2026-10-29T20:09:23.771Z","source":{"repository":"CVEProject/cvelistV5","path":"cves/2025/49xxx/CVE-2025-49150.json","commit":"556c9d3a8cd17e218bb8e452ba7cd619a384ff47"},"raw":{"dataType":"CVE_RECORD","dataVersion":"5.1","cveMetadata":{"cveId":"CVE-2025-49150","state":"PUBLISHED","datePublished":"2025-06-11T17:49:43.910Z","dateUpdated":"2025-06-11T18:19:11.056Z","assignerShortName":"GitHub_M","assignerOrgId":"a0819718-46f1-4df5-94e2-005712e83aaa","dateReserved":"2025-06-02T10:39:41.635Z"},"containers":{"cna":{"title":"Cursor Agent Potentially Leaks Information using JSON schema","descriptions":[{"lang":"en","value":"Cursor is a code editor built for programming with AI.
