{"id":"CVE-2025-20125","state":"PUBLISHED","title":"Cisco Identity Services Engine Insufficient Authorization Bypass Vulnerability","description":"A vulnerability in an API of Cisco ISE could allow an authenticated, remote attacker with valid read-only credentials to obtain sensitive information, change node configurations, and restart the node.\r\n\r\nThis vulnerability is due to a lack of authorization in a specific API and improper validation of user-supplied data. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by sending a crafted HTTP request to a specific API on the device. A successful exploit could allow the attacker to attacker to obtain information, modify system configuration, and reload the device.\r\nNote: To successfully exploit this vulnerability, the attacker must have valid read-only administrative credentials. In a single-node deployment, new devices will not be able to authenticate during the reload time.","publishedAt":"2025-02-05T16:12:17.272Z","updatedAt":"2025-02-05T17:21:58.525Z","severity":{"score":9.1,"label":"Critical","version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:H","source":"cisco"},"assigner":"cisco","products":["Cisco Cisco Identity Services Engine Software","Cisco Cisco ISE Passive Identity Connector"],"affected":[{"vendor":"Cisco","product":"Cisco Identity Services Engine Software","defaultStatus":"unknown","versions":[{"version":"3.0.0","status":"affected"},{"version":"3.0.0 p1","status":"affected"},{"version":"3.0.0 p2","status":"affected"},{"version":"3.0.0 p3","status":"affected"},{"version":"3.1.0","status":"affected"},{"version":"3.0.0 p4","status":"affected"},{"version":"3.1.0 p1","status":"affected"},{"version":"3.0.0 p5","status":"affected"},{"version":"3.1.0 p3","status":"affected"},{"version":"3.1.0 p2","status":"affected"},{"version":"3.0.0 p6","status":"affected"},{"version":"3.2.0","status":"affected"},{"version":"3.1.0 p4","status":"affected"},{"version":"2.7.0 p8","status":"affected"},{"version":"3.1.0 p5","status":"affected"},{"version":"3.2.0 p1","status":"affected"},{"version":"3.0.0 p7","status":"affected"},{"version":"3.1.0 p6","status":"affected"},{"version":"3.2.0 p2","status":"affected"},{"version":"3.1.0 p7","status":"affected"},{"version":"3.3.0","status":"affected"},{"version":"3.2.0 p3","status":"affected"},{"version":"3.0.0 p8","status":"affected"},{"version":"3.2.0 p4","status":"affected"},{"version":"3.1.0 p8","status":"affected"},{"version":"3.2.0 p5","status":"affected"},{"version":"3.2.0 p6","status":"affected"},{"version":"3.1.0 p9","status":"affected"},{"version":"3.3 Patch 2","status":"affected"},{"version":"3.3 Patch 1","status":"affected"},{"version":"3.3 Patch 3","status":"affected"}]},{"vendor":"Cisco","product":"Cisco ISE Passive Identity Connector","defaultStatus":"unknown","versions":[{"version":"3.0.0","status":"affected"},{"version":"3.2.0","status":"affected"},{"version":"3.1.0","status":"affected"},{"version":"3.3.0","status":"affected"}]}],"references":["https://sec.cloudapps.cisco.com/security/center/content/CiscoSecurityAdvisory/cisco-sa-ise-multivuls-FTW9AOXF"],"weaknesses":["CWE-285"],"ingestedAt":"2026-10-29T20:08:39.238Z","source":{"repository":"CVEProject/cvelistV5","path":"cves/2025/20xxx/CVE-2025-20125.json","commit":"556c9d3a8cd17e218bb8e452ba7cd619a384ff47"},"raw":{"dataType":"CVE_RECORD","dataVersion":"5.1","cveMetadata":{"cveId":"CVE-2025-20125","state":"PUBLISHED","datePublished":"2025-02-05T16:12:17.272Z","dateUpdated":"2025-02-05T17:21:58.525Z","assignerShortName":"cisco","assignerOrgId":"d1c1063e-7a18-46af-9102-31f8928bc633","dateReserved":"2024-10-10T19:15:13.211Z"},"containers":{"cna":{"title":"Cisco Identity Services Engine Insufficient Authorization Bypass Vulnerability","descriptions":[{"lang":"en","value":"A vulnerability in an API of Cisco ISE could allow an authenticated, remote attacker with valid read-only credentials to obtain sensitive information, change node configurations, and restart the node.\r\n\r\nThis vulnerability is due to a lack of authorization in a specific API and improper validation of user-supplied data.
