This is due to the plugin exposing state-changing REST actions through an AJAX bridge without proper CSRF token validation, and having destructive logic reachable via GET requests with no permission_callback. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to force logged-in administrators to create, update, or delete markers and geometry features via CSRF attacks, and allows anonymous users to trigger mass deletion of markers via unsafe GET requests.","publishedAt":"2025-10-09T01:48:48.168Z","updatedAt":"2026-04-08T17:04:17.640Z","severity":{"score":5.4,"label":"Medium","version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:N/I:L/A:L","source":"Wordfence"},"assigner":"Wordfence","products":["wpgmaps WP Go Maps (formerly WP Google Maps)"],"affected":[{"vendor":"wpgmaps","product":"WP Go Maps (formerly WP Google Maps)","defaultStatus":"unaffected","versions":[{"version":"0","status":"affected","lessThanOrEqual":"9.0.46","versionType":"semver"}]}],"references":["https://www.wordfence.com/threat-intel/vulnerabilities/id/840ba5b2-838a-455a-b39d-865f89c05249?source=cve","https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/browser/wp-google-maps/trunk/includes/class.rest-api.php#L45","https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/browser/wp-google-maps/trunk/includes/class.rest-api.php#L287","https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/browser/wp-google-maps/trunk/includes/class.rest-api.php#L850","https://research.cleantalk.org/cve-2025-11166","https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/changeset?sfp_email=&sfph_mail=&reponame=&new=3370954%40wp-google-maps%2Ftrunk&old=3317391%40wp-google-maps%2Ftrunk&sfp_email=&sfph_mail=#file1"],"weaknesses":["CWE-352"],"ingestedAt":"2026-10-29T20:08:31.050Z","source":{"repository":"CVEProject/cvelistV5","path":"cves/2025/11xxx/CVE-2025-11166.json","commit":"556c9d3a8cd17e218bb8e452ba7cd619a384ff47"},"raw":{"dataType":"CVE_RECORD","dataVersion":"5.2","cveMetadata":{"cveId":"CVE-2025-11166","state":"PUBLISHED","datePublished":"2025-10-09T01:48:48.168Z","dateUpdated":"2026-04-08T17:04:17.640Z","assignerShortName":"Wordfence","assignerOrgId":"b15e7b5b-3da4-40ae-a43c-f7aa60e62599","dateReserved":"2025-09-29T16:49:57.375Z"},"containers":{"cna":{"title":"WP Go Maps (formerly WP Google Maps) <= 9.0.46 - Cross-Site Request Forgery to Plugin Settings Update","descriptions":[{"lang":"en","value":"The WP Go Maps (formerly WP Google Maps) plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Cross-Site Request Forgery (CSRF) in all versions up to, and including, 9.0.46.
