- The vulnerable code processes HCI events delivered from the MediaTek Bluetooth controller over SDIO in response to radio activity; an attacker on the same Bluetooth segment can induce those events (e.g., advertising/connection-related HCI events) without local system access.\nAC:L - Any HCI event through btmtksdio_recv_event races the hdr->evt read against hci_rx_work freeing the skb; an adjacent attacker can flood events to trigger the race, and on preemptible kernels (typical for MediaTek phone deployments) the race is reliably hit as shown by the KASAN report.\nPR:N - Exploitation requires only adjacent Bluetooth radio reachability to cause the controller to emit HCI events; no credentials or local privileges on the victim host are needed.\nUI:N - No victim action is required beyond Bluetooth already being enabled and the btmtksdio device being operational, which is the normal attack-surface state for phones and IoT devices using these chips.\nS:U - The UAF corrupts/abuses kernel heap memory within the same kernel privilege boundary; it does not cross VM, IOMMU, or other separate security authorities.\nC:H - This is a use-after-free on a kmalloc-512 skb data object; reclaiming the freed object gives an attacker control over the stale read and enables information-disclosure primitives consistent with kernel UAF exploitation.\nI:H - Kernel UAF on the skb enables heap spraying and control of subsequent use of the freed object (including falsely matching HCI_EV_WMT and corrupting driver wait-state handling), supporting arbitrary write/control-flow hijack primitives.\nA:H - Use-after-free of skb data can cause kernel oops/panic when the reclaimed or poisoned memory is accessed, and the KASAN report confirms the invalid post-free access in btmtksdio_recv_event."}]}],"providerMetadata":{"shortName":"Linux","orgId":"416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67","dateUpdated":"2026-08-05T08:55:18.200Z"},"cpeApplicability":[{"nodes":[{"operator":"OR","negate":false,"cpeMatch":[{"vulnerable":true,"criteria":"cpe:2.3:o:linux:linux_kernel:*:*:*:*:*:*:*:*","versionStartIncluding":"5.2","versionEndExcluding":"5.15.54"},{"vulnerable":true,"criteria":"cpe:2.3:o:linux:linux_kernel:*:*:*:*:*:*:*:*","versionStartIncluding":"5.2","versionEndExcluding":"5.17.14"},{"vulnerable":true,"criteria":"cpe:2.3:o:linux:linux_kernel:*:*:*:*:*:*:*:*","versionStartIncluding":"5.2","versionEndExcluding":"5.18.3"},{"vulnerable":true,"criteria":"cpe:2.3:o:linux:linux_kernel:*:*:*:*:*:*:*:*","versionStartIncluding":"5.2","versionEndExcluding":"5.19"}]}]}],"x_generator":{"engine":"bippy-1.2.0"}},"adp":[{"title":"CISA
