an adjacent peer can feed HCI/LE events into the queue path but cannot itself unregister the controller, matching prior hci_cmd_sync/unregister UAF scores.\nAC:L - Via /dev/vhci the attacker controls both sides—injecting HCI traffic or issuing mgmt/connect paths that call hci_cmd_sync_queue while closing the fd to run hci_unregister_dev/hci_cmd_sync_clear—and can retry open/queue/close until the post-unregister queue wins and the freed hdev is reused.\nPR:L - vhci_open() has no capable() check, so any principal with the device node (Android bluetooth uid, containers, permissive udev) can create/destroy virtual controllers and inject frames without real init-namespace root, consistent with CVE-2023-53046/CVE-2024-58241/CVE-2025-38250.\nUI:N - The attacker performs device creation, command/event injection, and teardown entirely from its own processes; no separate victim action such as mounting a filesystem or confirming a prompt is required.\nS:U - The use-after-free corrupts kernel slab/workqueue state within the host kernel’s security authority and does not cross a VM, IOMMU, or sandbox boundary.\nC:H - Queuing after HCI_UNREGISTER leaves cmd_sync work running against a freed hci_dev after timeout/teardown; reclaiming that object yields a use-after-free read primitive over kernel heap contents, so confidentiality is High.\nI:H - The same UAF exposes sprayable hci_dev/work-entry state (including function pointers invoked from hci_cmd_sync_work), enabling arbitrary write and control-flow hijack after heap grooming.\nA:H - Use-after-free of hdev in cmd_sync/timeout paths causes kernel oops/panic even when not fully exploited, which is High availability impact."}]}],"providerMetadata":{"shortName":"Linux","orgId":"416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67","dateUpdated":"2026-08-05T08:54:01.573Z"},"cpeApplicability":[{"nodes":[{"operator":"OR","negate":false,"cpeMatch":[{"vulnerable":true,"criteria":"cpe:2.3:o:linux:linux_kernel:*:*:*:*:*:*:*:*","versionStartIncluding":"5.17","versionEndExcluding":"5.17.3"},{"vulnerable":true,"criteria":"cpe:2.3:o:linux:linux_kernel:*:*:*:*:*:*:*:*","versionStartIncluding":"5.17","versionEndExcluding":"5.18"}]}]}],"x_generator":{"engine":"bippy-1.2.0"}},"adp":[{"title":"CISA ADP Vulnrichment","metrics":[{"cvssV3_1":{"scope":"UNCHANGED","version":"3.1","baseScore":7.8,"attackVector":"LOCAL","baseSeverity":"HIGH","vectorString":"CVSS:3.1/AV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H","integrityImpact":"HIGH","userInteraction":"NONE","attackComplexity":"LOW","availabilityImpact":"HIGH","privilegesRequired":"LOW","confidentialityImpact":"HIGH"}},{"other":{"type":"ssvc","content":{"id":"CVE-2022-49136","role":"CISA Coordinator","options":[{"Exploitation":"none"},{"Automatable":"no"},{"Technical Impact":"total"}],"version":"2.0.3","timestamp":"2025-02-27T17:59:07.674181Z"}}}],"problemTypes":[{"descriptions":[{"cweId":"CWE-416","lang":"en","type":"CWE","description":"CWE-416 Use After Free"}]}],"providerMetadata":{"shortName":"CISA-ADP","orgId":"134c704f-9b21-4f2e-91b3-4a467353bcc0","dateUpdated":"2025-02-27T18:02:29.693Z"}}]}}}
