an attacker must be on the same LAN/broadcast domain to inject those jumbo frames, matching Adjacent scoring for Ethernet NIC RX UAFs (e.g. CVE-2022-48962).\nAC:L - An adjacent peer can send jumbo frames (hardware RFLR always accepts up to ~8K on gbeth) and burst same-flow segments so napi_gro_receive() returns GRO_MERGED_FREE and frees the skb before the immediate priv->rx_1st_skb->len read; no attacker-uncontrollable race or rare config is required.\nPR:N - Frame delivery runs in softirq/NAPI (ravb_interrupt → ravb_poll → ravb_rx_gbeth) with no host authentication or capability check; any unauthenticated peer that can put Ethernet frames on the wire triggers the path.\nUI:N - RX interrupt and NAPI processing run automatically once the interface is up; no victim action such as opening a file or confirming a prompt is required.\nS:U - The use-after-free corrupts host-kernel sk_buff heap state within the same OS security authority and does not cross a VM, IOMMU, or sandbox boundary.\nC:H - This is a heap use-after-free of an sk_buff after napi_gro_receive may free it; reclaiming the slab object enables disclosure of reused kernel memory via the dangling skb->len read, scored High per UAF guidance.\nI:H - sk_buff use-after-free in a general-purpose slab is a classic heap-grooming primitive that can yield attacker-controlled object reuse and control-flow hijacking, so integrity impact is High per kernel UAF scoring guidance.\nA:H - Dereferencing a freed sk_buff can oops/panic the kernel, and an adjacent attacker can repeatedly inject jumbo frames to crash the host at will."}]}],"providerMetadata":{"shortName":"Linux","orgId":"416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67","dateUpdated":"2026-08-05T08:53:10.905Z"},"cpeApplicability":[{"nodes":[{"operator":"OR","negate":false,"cpeMatch":[{"vulnerable":true,"criteria":"cpe:2.3:o:linux:linux_kernel:*:*:*:*:*:*:*:*","versionStartIncluding":"5.16","versionEndExcluding":"6.0.13"},{"vulnerable":true,"criteria":"cpe:2.3:o:linux:linux_kernel:*:*:*:*:*:*:*:*","versionStartIncluding":"5.16","versionEndExcluding":"6.1"}]}]}],"x_generator":{"engine":"bippy-1.2.0"}},"adp":[{"title":"CISA ADP Vulnrichment","metrics":[{"other":{"type":"ssvc","content":{"id":"CVE-2022-48964","role":"CISA Coordinator","options":[{"Exploitation":"none"},{"Automatable":"no"},{"Technical Impact":"partial"}],"version":"2.0.3","timestamp":"2024-10-22T13:19:59.511376Z"}}}],"providerMetadata":{"shortName":"CISA-ADP","orgId":"134c704f-9b21-4f2e-91b3-4a467353bcc0","dateUpdated":"2024-10-22T13:28:38.732Z"}}]}}}
