root or init-namespace CAP_SYS_ADMIN is not required.\nUI:N - Exploitation requires only attacker-initiated I/O and abort/completion activity; no separate victim user action is needed.\nS:U - The UAF corrupts kernel memory in the host kernel's SCSI/libsas authority and does not cross a VM, IOMMU, or other security boundary.\nC:H - Use-after-free of sas_task enables control of freed object contents (heap spray), which can be leveraged for arbitrary kernel memory disclosure.\nI:H - pm8001_ccb_task_free reads task fields and writes through the freed sas_task (including dma_unmap_sg based on attacker-influenced state), enabling arbitrary write/control-flow hijacking primitives.\nA:H - Use-after-free in IRQ/tasklet completion path can cause kernel oops/panic even when not fully exploited for code execution."}]}],"providerMetadata":{"shortName":"Linux","orgId":"416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67","dateUpdated":"2026-08-05T08:52:22.849Z"},"cpeApplicability":[{"nodes":[{"operator":"OR","negate":false,"cpeMatch":[{"vulnerable":true,"criteria":"cpe:2.3:o:linux:linux_kernel:*:*:*:*:*:*:*:*","versionStartIncluding":"4.15","versionEndExcluding":"5.10.102"},{"vulnerable":true,"criteria":"cpe:2.3:o:linux:linux_kernel:*:*:*:*:*:*:*:*","versionStartIncluding":"4.15","versionEndExcluding":"5.15.25"},{"vulnerable":true,"criteria":"cpe:2.3:o:linux:linux_kernel:*:*:*:*:*:*:*:*","versionStartIncluding":"4.15","versionEndExcluding":"5.16.11"},{"vulnerable":true,"criteria":"cpe:2.3:o:linux:linux_kernel:*:*:*:*:*:*:*:*","versionStartIncluding":"4.15","versionEndExcluding":"5.17"}]}]}],"x_generator":{"engine":"bippy-1.2.0"}},"adp":[{"title":"CVE Program Container","references":[{"url":"https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/fe9ac3eaa2e387a5742b380b73a5a6bc237bf184","tags":["x_transferred"]},{"url":"https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/d9d93f32534a0a80a1c26bdb0746d90a7b19c2c2","tags":["x_transferred"]},{"url":"https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/f61f9fccb2cb4bb275674a79d638704db6bc2171","tags":["x_transferred"]},{"url":"https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/df7abcaa1246e2537ab4016077b5443bb3c09378","tags":["x_transferred"]}],"providerMetadata":{"shortName":"CVE","orgId":"af854a3a-2127-422b-91ae-364da2661108","dateUpdated":"2024-08-03T15:25:01.578Z"}},{"title":"CISA ADP Vulnrichment","metrics":[{"other":{"type":"ssvc","content":{"id":"CVE-2022-48792","role":"CISA Coordinator","options":[{"Exploitation":"none"},{"Automatable":"no"},{"Technical Impact":"partial"}],"version":"2.0.3","timestamp":"2024-09-10T16:59:32.216009Z"}}}],"providerMetadata":{"shortName":"CISA-ADP","orgId":"134c704f-9b21-4f2e-91b3-4a467353bcc0","dateUpdated":"2024-09-11T17:34:15.612Z"}}]}}}
