- The bug is in the NVMe/TCP host receive path (nvme_tcp_recv_skb → io_work), which processes PDU bytes from a remote TCP peer; a malicious or compromised NVMe-oF target (or MITM) triggers it over the network.\nAC:L - The attacker fully controls the peer TCP stream and can reliably send header-digest or other protocol errors, then more data so try_recv still returns pending work and io_work continues after rd_enabled is cleared.\nPR:N - The attacker is the remote NVMe/TCP peer and needs no privileges on the victim host; an already-configured fabrics connection is only a deployment precondition.\nUI:N - After an NVMe/TCP session exists, the peer can trigger the flaw during ordinary I/O with no further user action.\nS:U - Impact is use-after-free and memory corruption inside the host kernel’s own authority, not a cross-boundary escape.\nC:H - Continuing on a desynced stream and racing teardown yields a use-after-free (e.g. nvme_cid_to_rq on stale/freed requests), which can be leveraged for arbitrary kernel reads.\nI:H - The same UAF is exploitable for heap manipulation and arbitrary writes / control-flow hijacking in the kernel.\nA:H - The UAF causes kernel oops/panic and also forces controller error recovery that disrupts storage I/O."}]}],"providerMetadata":{"shortName":"Linux","orgId":"416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67","dateUpdated":"2026-08-05T08:51:45.116Z"},"cpeApplicability":[{"nodes":[{"operator":"OR","negate":false,"cpeMatch":[{"vulnerable":true,"criteria":"cpe:2.3:o:linux:linux_kernel:*:*:*:*:*:*:*:*","versionStartIncluding":"5.0","versionEndExcluding":"5.4.213"},{"vulnerable":true,"criteria":"cpe:2.3:o:linux:linux_kernel:*:*:*:*:*:*:*:*","versionStartIncluding":"5.0","versionEndExcluding":"5.10.143"},{"vulnerable":true,"criteria":"cpe:2.3:o:linux:linux_kernel:*:*:*:*:*:*:*:*","versionStartIncluding":"5.0","versionEndExcluding":"5.15.68"},{"vulnerable":true,"criteria":"cpe:2.3:o:linux:linux_kernel:*:*:*:*:*:*:*:*","versionStartIncluding":"5.0","versionEndExcluding":"5.19.9"},{"vulnerable":true,"criteria":"cpe:2.3:o:linux:linux_kernel:*:*:*:*:*:*:*:*","versionStartIncluding":"5.0","versionEndExcluding":"6.0"}]}]}],"x_generator":{"engine":"bippy-1.2.0"}},"adp":[{"title":"CISA
