{"id":"CVE-2022-31482","state":"PUBLISHED","title":"Denial-of-Service via internal structure overflow","description":"An unauthenticated attacker can send a specially crafted unauthenticated HTTP request to the device that can overflow a buffer. This vulnerability impacts products based on HID Mercury Intelligent Controllers LP1501, LP1502, LP2500, LP4502, and EP4502 which contain firmware versions prior to 1.29. The overflowed data leads to segmentation fault and ultimately a denial-of-service condition, causing the device to reboot. The impact of this vulnerability is that an unauthenticated attacker could leverage this flaw to cause the target device to become unresponsive. An attacker could automate this attack to achieve persistent DoS, effectively rendering the target controller useless.","publishedAt":"2022-06-06T16:39:22.500Z","updatedAt":"2024-09-17T01:00:48.176Z","severity":{"score":7.5,"label":"High","version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H","source":"Carrier"},"assigner":"Carrier","products":["LenelS2 LNL-X2210","LenelS2 LNL-X2220","LenelS2 LNL-X3300","LenelS2 LNL-X4420","LenelS2 LNL-4420","LenelS2 S2-LP-1501","LenelS2 S2-LP-1502","LenelS2 S2-LP-2500","LenelS2 S2-LP-4502","HID Mercury LP1501","HID Mercury LP1502","HID Mercury LP2500","HID Mercury LP4502","HID Mercury EP4502"],"affected":[{"vendor":"LenelS2","product":"LNL-X2210","versions":[{"version":"ALL","status":"affected","lessThan":"1.29","versionType":"custom"}]},{"vendor":"LenelS2","product":"LNL-X2220","versions":[{"version":"ALL","status":"affected","lessThan":"1.29","versionType":"custom"}]},{"vendor":"LenelS2","product":"LNL-X3300","versions":[{"version":"ALL","status":"affected","lessThan":"1.29","versionType":"custom"}]},{"vendor":"LenelS2","product":"LNL-X4420","versions":[{"version":"ALL","status":"affected","lessThan":"1.29","versionType":"custom"}]},{"vendor":"LenelS2","product":"LNL-4420","versions":[{"version":"ALL","status":"affected","lessThan":"1.29","versionType":"custom"}]},{"vendor":"LenelS2","product":"S2-LP-1501","versions":[{"version":"ALL","status":"affected","lessThan":"1.29","versionType":"custom"}]},{"vendor":"LenelS2","product":"S2-LP-1502","versions":[{"version":"ALL","status":"affected","lessThan":"1.29","versionType":"custom"}]},{"vendor":"LenelS2","product":"S2-LP-2500","versions":[{"version":"ALL","status":"affected","lessThan":"1.29","versionType":"custom"}]},{"vendor":"LenelS2","product":"S2-LP-4502","versions":[{"version":"ALL","status":"affected","lessThan":"1.29","versionType":"custom"}]},{"vendor":"HID Mercury","product":"LP1501","versions":[{"version":"ALL","status":"affected","lessThan":"1.29","versionType":"custom"}]},{"vendor":"HID Mercury","product":"LP1502","versions":[{"version":"ALL","status":"affected","lessThan":"1.29","versionType":"custom"}]},{"vendor":"HID Mercury","product":"LP2500","versions":[{"version":"ALL","status":"affected","lessThan":"1.29","versionType":"custom"}]},{"vendor":"HID Mercury","product":"LP4502","versions":[{"version":"ALL","status":"affected","lessThan":"1.29","versionType":"custom"}]},{"vendor":"HID Mercury","product":"EP4502","versions":[{"version":"ALL","status":"affected","lessThan":"1.29","versionType":"custom"}]}],"references":["https://www.corporate.carrier.com/product-security/advisories-resources/"],"weaknesses":["CWE-120"],"ingestedAt":"2026-10-29T19:50:06.617Z","source":{"repository":"CVEProject/cvelistV5","path":"cves/2022/31xxx/CVE-2022-31482.json","commit":"556c9d3a8cd17e218bb8e452ba7cd619a384ff47"},"raw":{"dataType":"CVE_RECORD","dataVersion":"5.1","cveMetadata":{"cveId":"CVE-2022-31482","state":"PUBLISHED","datePublished":"2022-06-06T16:39:22.500Z","dateUpdated":"2024-09-17T01:00:48.176Z","assignerShortName":"Carrier","assignerOrgId":"e24e6442-3ae1-4538-a7b8-7ac95586db8f","dateReserved":"2022-05-23T00:00:00.000Z"},"containers":{"cna":{"title":"Denial-of-Service via internal structure overflow","descriptions":[{"lang":"en","value":"An unauthenticated attacker can send a specially crafted unauthenticated HTTP request to the device that can overflow a buffer.
