{"id":"CVE-2021-38346","state":"PUBLISHED","title":"Brizy <= 2.3.11 Authenticated Unrestricted File Upload and Path Traversal","description":"The Brizy Page Builder plugin <= 2.3.11 for WordPress allowed authenticated users to upload executable files to a location of their choice using the brizy_create_block_screenshot AJAX action. The file would be named using the id parameter, which could be prepended with \"../\" to perform directory traversal, and the file contents were populated via the ibsf parameter, which would be base64-decoded and written to the file. While the plugin added a .jpg extension to all uploaded filenames, a double extension attack was still possible, e.g. a file named shell.php would be saved as shell.php.jpg, and would be executable on a number of common configurations.","publishedAt":"2021-10-14T15:56:57.210Z","updatedAt":"2025-02-14T18:11:15.472Z","severity":{"score":8.8,"label":"High","version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H","source":"Wordfence"},"assigner":"Wordfence","products":["Brizy.io Brizy - Page Builder"],"affected":[{"vendor":"Brizy.io","product":"Brizy - Page Builder","versions":[{"version":"2.3.11","status":"affected","lessThanOrEqual":"2.3.11","versionType":"custom"}],"platforms":["WordPress"]}],"references":["https://www.wordfence.com/blog/2021/10/multiple-vulnerabilities-in-brizy-page-builder-plugin-allow-site-takeover/"],"weaknesses":["CWE-79"],"ingestedAt":"2026-10-29T19:48:49.871Z","source":{"repository":"CVEProject/cvelistV5","path":"cves/2021/38xxx/CVE-2021-38346.json","commit":"556c9d3a8cd17e218bb8e452ba7cd619a384ff47"},"raw":{"dataType":"CVE_RECORD","dataVersion":"5.1","cveMetadata":{"cveId":"CVE-2021-38346","state":"PUBLISHED","datePublished":"2021-10-14T15:56:57.210Z","dateUpdated":"2025-02-14T18:11:15.472Z","assignerShortName":"Wordfence","assignerOrgId":"b15e7b5b-3da4-40ae-a43c-f7aa60e62599","dateReserved":"2021-08-09T00:00:00.000Z"},"containers":{"cna":{"title":"Brizy <= 2.3.11 Authenticated Unrestricted File Upload and Path Traversal","descriptions":[{"lang":"en","value":"The Brizy Page Builder plugin <= 2.3.11 for WordPress allowed authenticated users to upload executable files to a location of their choice using the brizy_create_block_screenshot AJAX action.
