{"id":"CVE-2019-1672","state":"PUBLISHED","title":"Cisco Web Security Appliance Decryption Policy Bypass Vulnerability","description":"A vulnerability in the Decryption Policy Default Action functionality of the Cisco Web Security Appliance (WSA) could allow an unauthenticated, remote attacker to bypass a configured drop policy and allow traffic onto the network that should have been denied. The vulnerability is due to the incorrect handling of SSL-encrypted traffic when Decrypt for End-User Notification is disabled in the configuration. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by sending a SSL connection through the affected device. A successful exploit could allow the attacker to bypass a configured drop policy to block specific SSL connections. Releases 10.1.x and 10.5.x are affected.","publishedAt":"2019-02-08T18:00:00.000Z","updatedAt":"2024-11-19T19:17:07.018Z","severity":{"score":5.8,"label":"Medium","version":"3.0","vector":"CVSS:3.0/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:C/C:N/I:L/A:N","source":"cisco"},"assigner":"cisco","products":["Cisco Cisco Web Security Appliance (WSA)"],"affected":[{"vendor":"Cisco","product":"Cisco Web Security Appliance (WSA)","versions":[{"version":"10.1","status":"affected"},{"version":"10.5","status":"affected"}]}],"references":["https://tools.cisco.com/security/center/content/CiscoSecurityAdvisory/cisco-sa-20190206-wsa-bypass","http://www.securityfocus.com/bid/106904"],"weaknesses":["CWE-400"],"ingestedAt":"2026-10-29T19:45:46.792Z","source":{"repository":"CVEProject/cvelistV5","path":"cves/2019/1xxx/CVE-2019-1672.json","commit":"556c9d3a8cd17e218bb8e452ba7cd619a384ff47"},"raw":{"dataType":"CVE_RECORD","dataVersion":"5.1","cveMetadata":{"cveId":"CVE-2019-1672","state":"PUBLISHED","datePublished":"2019-02-08T18:00:00.000Z","dateUpdated":"2024-11-19T19:17:07.018Z","assignerShortName":"cisco","assignerOrgId":"d1c1063e-7a18-46af-9102-31f8928bc633","dateReserved":"2018-12-06T00:00:00.000Z"},"containers":{"cna":{"title":"Cisco Web Security Appliance Decryption Policy Bypass Vulnerability","descriptions":[{"lang":"en","value":"A vulnerability in the Decryption Policy Default Action functionality of the Cisco Web Security Appliance (WSA) could allow an unauthenticated, remote attacker to bypass a configured drop policy and allow traffic onto the network that should have been denied.
