{"id":"CVE-2019-1595","state":"PUBLISHED","title":"Cisco Nexus 5600 and 6000 Series Switches Fibre Channel over Ethernet Denial of Service Vulnerability","description":"A vulnerability in the Fibre Channel over Ethernet (FCoE) protocol implementation in Cisco NX-OS Software could allow an unauthenticated, adjacent attacker to cause a denial of service (DoS) condition on an affected device. The vulnerability is due to an incorrect allocation of an internal interface index. An adjacent attacker with the ability to submit a crafted FCoE packet that crosses affected interfaces could trigger this vulnerability. A successful exploit could allow the attacker to cause a packet loop and high throughput on the affected interfaces, resulting in a DoS condition. This vulnerability has been fixed in version 7.3(5)N1(1).","publishedAt":"2019-03-06T22:00:00.000Z","updatedAt":"2024-11-21T19:44:00.196Z","severity":{"score":7.4,"label":"High","version":"3.0","vector":"CVSS:3.0/AV:A/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:C/C:N/I:N/A:H","source":"cisco"},"assigner":"cisco","products":["Cisco Cisco NX-OS Software"],"affected":[{"vendor":"Cisco","product":"Cisco NX-OS Software","versions":[{"version":"7.3(5)N1(1)","status":"affected"}]}],"references":["http://www.securityfocus.com/bid/107320","https://tools.cisco.com/security/center/content/CiscoSecurityAdvisory/cisco-sa-20190306-nexus-fbr-dos"],"weaknesses":["CWE-913"],"ingestedAt":"2026-10-29T19:45:46.792Z","source":{"repository":"CVEProject/cvelistV5","path":"cves/2019/1xxx/CVE-2019-1595.json","commit":"556c9d3a8cd17e218bb8e452ba7cd619a384ff47"},"raw":{"dataType":"CVE_RECORD","dataVersion":"5.1","cveMetadata":{"cveId":"CVE-2019-1595","state":"PUBLISHED","datePublished":"2019-03-06T22:00:00.000Z","dateUpdated":"2024-11-21T19:44:00.196Z","assignerShortName":"cisco","assignerOrgId":"d1c1063e-7a18-46af-9102-31f8928bc633","dateReserved":"2018-12-06T00:00:00.000Z"},"containers":{"cna":{"title":"Cisco Nexus 5600 and 6000 Series Switches Fibre Channel over Ethernet Denial of Service Vulnerability","descriptions":[{"lang":"en","value":"A vulnerability in the Fibre Channel over Ethernet (FCoE) protocol implementation in Cisco NX-OS Software could allow an unauthenticated, adjacent attacker to cause a denial of service (DoS) condition on an affected device.
