{"id":"CVE-2019-12513","state":"PUBLISHED","title":"Stored XSS via DHCP Discover Request Hostname","description":"In NETGEAR Nighthawk X10-R900 prior to 1.0.4.24, by sending a DHCP discover request containing a malicious hostname field, an attacker may execute stored XSS attacks against this device. When the malicious DHCP request is received, the device will generate a log entry containing the malicious hostname. This log entry may then be viewed at Advanced settings->Administration->Logs to trigger the exploit. Although this value is inserted into a textarea tag, converted to all-caps, and limited in length, attacks are still possible.","publishedAt":"2020-02-24T18:16:30.000Z","updatedAt":"2024-08-04T23:24:38.504Z","severity":null,"assigner":"mitre","products":["n/a n/a"],"affected":[{"vendor":"n/a","product":"n/a","versions":[{"version":"n/a","status":"affected"}]}],"references":["https://www.ise.io/casestudies/sohopelessly-broken-2-0/"],"weaknesses":[],"ingestedAt":"2026-10-29T19:45:24.933Z","source":{"repository":"CVEProject/cvelistV5","path":"cves/2019/12xxx/CVE-2019-12513.json","commit":"556c9d3a8cd17e218bb8e452ba7cd619a384ff47"},"raw":{"dataType":"CVE_RECORD","dataVersion":"5.1","cveMetadata":{"cveId":"CVE-2019-12513","state":"PUBLISHED","datePublished":"2020-02-24T18:16:30.000Z","dateUpdated":"2024-08-04T23:24:38.504Z","assignerShortName":"mitre","assignerOrgId":"8254265b-2729-46b6-b9e3-3dfca2d5bfca","dateReserved":"2019-06-01T00:00:00.000Z"},"containers":{"cna":{"title":"Stored XSS via DHCP Discover Request Hostname","descriptions":[{"lang":"en","value":"In NETGEAR Nighthawk X10-R900 prior to 1.0.4.24, by sending a DHCP discover request containing a malicious hostname field, an attacker may execute stored XSS attacks against this device.
